currently, it has Hyper OS v1 installed. As a 5 year old device, are there still chances of it getting an updated version of the OS? I feel like that it can still support the latest version but maybe Xiaomi gave up on the device?

1. how do i verify which ROM (China or Global) it uses?

2. to unlock the bootloader, is our only option via the Xiaomi Community app? any trick to get it approved via the Community app?
