You dont have to buy it ya know
Lovely. This is gonna be a good phone.
That battery will be toast so goddamn fast. The phone might be as well due to overheating. This might even be dangerous in general
Doubt it
That is correct. If you have slight technical knowledge, this is a bad idea
And you shouldn’t, at least with that charger
This dangerous myth still going around makes me a bit sad tbh. It’s verified to be safe. Never had anything happen with 120W on my 11T Pro except it gets a tiny bit warm.
Nah..
Literally. The same people that believe 5G causes cancer.
I remember 2 years ago people said the exact thing when 120w charging was introduced, and saying 33w is the optimal speed. I’ve been using 10 Ultra with the 120W charger for more than 2 years now, and the battery is still in great condition. Can’t wait for them introducing 400w charging and people saying 120w is optimal
Uhm, no? since that it’s proven that more watts produces more heat which in turn degrades battery.
What myth? You can literally google the degradation
It might degrade quicker YES, but it’s NOT dangerous. That’s a myth.
Really? Do you not think they test this sort of thing extensively before they release it?
That’s probably two batteries charged 105W separately.
Like in this video from Mi11T Pro
No they still recommend not doing Quick Charge at night. Might be less statistically likely, but still.
It may degrade the battery slightly more than something like a 18w charger, but the trade off is worth it. I don’t think it’s “dangerous” anyway.
great! let’s replace battery every few months…
Here is a video that explains that fast charging is safe for anyone hating on it. https://youtu.be/UpqaQR4ikig
and after a month of usage, you have to replace the battery,…
Great! A battery expert! /s
Go for Xiaomi 12T, flat screen and very sharp OLED.
Fast charging is safe, which is something like 20-45w, 210w is just madness.
When you say “slight”, what do you mean exactly?
Explorer Edition wont be released to Global according to a leaker, in addition peak charging wattage is 184.85 W in the [lab test](https://www.chongdiantou.com/archives/183138.html).
Tbh if I had the choice I would prefer the 5000 mah 120W of the normal version (already pretty fast) over the 4300 mah 210 W but it’s cool to see how far the technology has improved.
Doubt it also. Thing with Xiaomi is they have a couple of really really good features like the super super fast charging but the build quality and usability is trash compared with Huawei for example. (I could have said Samsung!)
I’m q Xiaomi fanboy generally but the software on Poco f3 was so garbage that I switched to iOS. But I really do miss the blazing fast charging speed
ah have you even watched the video?!
How is build quality and usability trash? Build quality on lower end phones isn’t going to be the same as flagships, regardless of the brand. Galaxy A series phones are mid-tier, and you can tell the build quality is definitely not the same as the S series. Usability is trash? What does that even mean? The only negative thing I can think of when it comes to usability is using a Xiaomi phone in the US, where the phone might not support all of the bands. That’s true, but you just have to see which phones are compatible with your carrier and choose one of those. My Mi Mix 3 (China version, later flashed Global ROM) was on Verizon, and it supported all of their 4G bands. The 11 Ultra didn’t support band 13 (which is crucial for Verizon), and I was planning on switching carriers anyway, so I switched to Mint. I was ok with only getting access to 1 band that was 5G, and the bands I didn’t have on 4G were not 100% necessary unless you’re in more rural areas. I could have chosen a more compatible phone, but this is what I wanted, and the trade-off was worth it.
I hear complaints about MIUI, but I like MIUI. I have the Galaxy Tab S8+, and I’ve even used Galaxy phones in the past. I always come back to Xiaomi. I don’t like One UI. Some people hate One UI and some people hate MIUI. When I use the Settings app on One UI, I almost always have to use the search function because some settings aren’t where you would expect them to be. I wanted to see what resolution my tablet was, but there wasn’t even an option to look and change. Xiaomi’s prices are almost always better than Samsung’s. The Mix Fold 2 was $1,350 while the Galaxy Fold 4 was $1,800. Until recently, most of their flagship phones only supported 25W charging. Samsung might have better optimization, and my only real complaint with Xiaomi is how their battery optimization is often too strong, preventing notifications unless you disable that feature from those apps. Huawei phones are pretty damn good as well, but the pricing is not as good as Xiaomi.
It’s so fast, makes me think is dangerous.
So what makes you think YOU are the expert then? Faster charging might degrade the battery quicker, but not enough to make it worth mentioning. Most people get a new phone every 2 or 3 years. If you have it that long, you won’t really notice a difference. You’ll only notice a difference after 5 years or so. If you DO use your phone for 5+ years, then 210W fast charging might not be for you. If someone has a phone that long, however, they typically aren’t heavy phone users at all. That means they won’t drain the battery as fast as some of us, which means the number of charges will be less, which then means the battery won’t degrade anywhere near as quickly. For people who are paranoid about that stuff still, they can still get the phone and just use a 25W charger or whatever instead.
Technology now can stop charging automatically if it is fully charged. So it’s not dangerous.
Honestly, my only concern for this kind of charging is the size of the brick. Lugging it around is really clunky. I have the MIX4 with the 120w and only time where I found it to be really life changing is the fact that you can charge at this speed in your car, so you end up with a full charge after any drive longer than 15 minutes. That is the only place where 120w charging is a constant lifesaver.
If 200w charging is a standard for phones and can be mass adopted in places like trains, restaurants workplaces and cars, there will literally be zero need for batter banks anymore. Assuming there will be no breakthrough battery tech in the future, wicked fast charging might be the way to go.
My problem with MIUI is that you don’t get swipe navigation if you use a third party launcher. That’s a huge dealbreaker.
You want to use Nova? Anything else? 3 Button Navigation for you! Using third party swipe apps is buggy as hell too.
What’s the point of launchers really? I haven’t been interested in that stuff since I was in middle school.
Every fucking phone has a launcher including MIUI. MIUI’s launcher is not really capable.
He’s a what?
No shit, what I’m asking is: What’s the point of downloading and using a 3rd party launcher? What benefit does it provide? The design on your home screen?
For ease of use, information, better widget placement, etc.
Or a launcher that doesn’t phone home. Regardless many people on Android use a third party launcher and Xiaomi phones are the ONLY ONE where if you use a custom launcher, you lose swipe navigation and are forced to use legacy 3 button.
If you want to change that much, then why not just flash a different ROM? It’ll be much more thorough.
Idk man I have a Poco F3 and have zero problems with Software, seems like a you-problem
What are the temps while charging like?
So I should rely on your unknown ahh instead, right?
And in 3 months, Xiaomi will release new 16-pin connector to deliver 600W and make it poor quality and they will start burning the phones. (It’s a joke, don’t kill me)
Do you use the european ROM? Notifications were always hit and miss, if I tapped on a messenger notification it wouldn’t open up the chat head, couldn’t use custom launchers, all that for an entire year before I said screw that and jumped ship to iOS
If the battery can handle that charging speed long term it’s very good. I currently have a Redmi Note 8 Pro with 18W fast charging that I’ve been daily using for 2.5 years now and the battery life is still strong. I don’t know if it’s because the battery quality, the fast charging, the “liquid cooling”, or the fact that I kept it between 20% and 80% most of the time but I’m very pleased with this. The battery on most phones I had prior got worn to the point of not being able to leave my house with their charger in less than 2 years. It’s my first contact with Xiaomi phones and so far I’m very pleased (but the ads present in the system apps are quite unpleasing).
I think it has temperature sensors, so the charging speed gets reduced when it gets hot.
I bought my Poco with the intention of get mting a custom rom as soon as I can. I agree, miui for poco is far from regular miui, and regular miui is far from the original chinese miui. I love the phone with miui.eu. It was a pretty lenghty process, because I tried this first, but now it’s good. I understand, and me myself would like if a phone just came with all its potential from factory, but sadly xiaomi’s software outside of china is not the best, and lacks a lot of good features.
I like 33 watts, it’s pretty good. I would like 120watts in the future, but I honestly don’t need more, especially because I only charge slightly above 80, and here, 2 minutes late, and you are at a 100 almost. But the thing I like to see, is that the brick has a usb c outlet for the first time at xiaomi. Tht’s nice.
120W is already more than enough, and it reached budget phones.
Imagine if they just divided the battery into 6 cells and are using parallel charging. That’s only 35 watts per cell.
In fact, the way that 210 divides so conveniently by 6 makes me think that is exactly what they are doing.
Are you dense? I asked “He’s a what?” because I’ve never heard of someone being “asthetic”.
And it sounds like you’re making a false assumption. Some of these YouTubers DO know what they are talking about. They don’t just care about a product’s design.
He means he only has a “slight” bit of technical knowledge. Insufficient to make ignorant claims.
Even charging a single battery gets hot, now what happens if you charge 6 of them in close proximity? I tried the xiaomi 12 with 120w charging and it was almost too hot to touch after it finished…
Generally as wattage increases so does heat. If you are charging one battery at 120W, then all the heat is concentrated in one location. If you charge 4 batteries at 30 watts, then there is much less heat in each battery. Of course, the batteries need to be somewhat thermally isolated, so you will get slightly less battery density in the same space.
I would say sufficient to make ignorant claims 🙂
You’re right, I had that worded wrong lol
Still, I can’t evade the feeling of it being dangerous, but relax is just my opinion.
Yup, for peace of mind let’s just stick with 33 watts haha.
I realy hope it comes to US (IK it wont but still), I am using s6edge from 2015 and takes 2 hlurs and 30 minutes to charge, but 9 minutes might be overkill but still amazing and specs are great too.
