Honestly couldn’t care less about the support.
Is there an announcement date?
That’s the whole point of dimensity series. Pulling off performances better than their competitors at a very affordable price.
Using that processor would drive the price up by hundreds of dollars and defeat the purpose of this line of phones existing.
Redmi is the mid-range/Mid premium-range sub brand of Xiaomi if you want a high-end chipset go with the Mi series or the Poco F2 Pro
…? buy the mi 9 then lmao do you expect every phone to have a 855?
I thought that too but a lot of reviewers say that it’s much worse than Snapdragon, A- series or even Exynos. Of course they are aiming for another type of buyer with their hardware decision
Then I guess the 2-4 UI updates or a bonus.
And budget too.
Never said that, just commenting on how sad it is (for me) that redmi phones have started to have worse processors, idk why as they always managed to out in a good processor with low price
I have the phone and it’s not a minimum $600 phone. It uses the Mediatek G90T. Do you even research phones before talking about them?
Yeah that’s what the sub brand has shifted to. Its not ideal for me but I understand that it can be beneficial for another big chunk of the market
No it doesn’t. RN8Pro owner.
I researched it a good deal as I was about to buy it but in the end decided for k20 pro (which is a mistake after I found about the IR blaster). So idk about your region but my friend has 855 and I have found many reviewers stating that it has 855. Try to be a better person next time you type a comment
Yeah, basically. 2 Android updates as well as 3 or 4 major UI updates.
Redmi phones this year took their biggest leap ever with the Redmi 9 compared to the 8. Not sure what you mean.
I’m aware, the thing is within the phone specifications within the phone it says 855. Also I have found many reviewers pointing out it does have an 855. Of you wish I could link them
Ok I must be confused because I am 100% one phone I’m not sure which as all the replies say something else but I know it’s a something “8” had a 855, then I remember the 9 had a dimensity or something worse and I believed they were the redmi notes. That’s why I was disappointed to find the 10 had a 750G
The Redmi 8 does not have an 855 lol. Nor does the Redmi 9. That is a 730G. Nothing disappointing about a 750G at all.
No redmi phones (except the k series) have sd 8 series processors, what the hell are you talking about?
*720G* actually,but still.
How do you shift from one segment to the same segment. This was their original market and they’ve made more premium phones since they started.
You must be confusing it for the redmi note 8 which has a snapdragon processor but its a 665 not 855
You have to be a troll at this point. No version of the Note 8 Pro uses the 855. That’s a flagship choosey for expensive, flagship phones. Think: OnePlus 7T/Pro,Galaxy S/Note 10. The Redmi Note 8 Pro was the first host for Mediatek’s new at the time G90T, marketed as a gaming chipset for cheaper phones and gamers on a budget, one of which I am. And as for the IR blaster on any phone, that’s a bonus commodity item in this world of phones don’t it ironically at the same time as smart devices are becoming more common.
You read the comment, you tell me
Wow, I thought r/xiaomi didn’t mind opinions 😔
Ok I’m thinking of something else then, although I’m fairly sure my friend does have the 855 in there. Maybe a similar phone
I researched it and I have acknowledged already that I may have used a faulty site as many people are saying the contrary. What are you looking for? You have very poor manners and I do not mean to insult you in any way but treating a person wrong because you believe you are right is not right in any way either. I know this is the most inefficient way to educate people, especially in the internet, but don’t be a jackass.
[Here’s an image from a reputable site built just for listing specs.](https://photos.app.goo.gl/uW3wEYHB9zEG1Y2F9)
I’m not being an ass here. I wasn’t the one throwing insults at other people. I’m just saying what I know from years of researching phones and using a reputable company to cite specs about the device that I am holding in my hands right now.
Please do, it might be an issue in the software or it’s falsely marketed in that area. Redmi note 8 pro only comes with the mediatek helio G90t in all regions. You might be confusing the phone with another phone.
Yeah, lol it probably is as everyone is saying it has a mediatek processor. Either way I’ll see him tomorrow and send a ss asap. Have a good day
Don’t feed the troll!
Only nerds cares about premium support!
\>biggest leap ever with the Redmi 9
\>MTK
rofl
A Mediatek that scores 200000 on Antutu despite the phone costing £90-120. Nothing wrong with the G80 especially at that price point.
Well, they do perform great, is that… they’re not “good” processors as in quality.
i run a technician store, and i had issues with mtk processors more than qualcomm and exynos, (mostly note 8 pro and redmi 9 series).
I find that hard to believe considering every Redmi 9 in the planet is under warranty. Who is taking it to a store?
Also what issues to do with the chipset?
The thing is that here in this country there is no official warranty provider/retailer. Most phones are shipped from other countries (like Usa and China)
And to reword properly my previous post, the most phones i’ve encountered issues were the note 8 pro.
There was going to be a gran opening a “Oficial” MI Store just a couple metters from our store and to be honest, that was going to be a relieve and a good news that we finally are going to get a oficial MI store… but then, covid-19 happened.
720 and 750g
I can’t quite make out your statement. If I don’t care for updates that the price for hardware is always appealing?
Absolutely.
Is the processors for gaming? 🤨
its dimensity 720 not snapdragon 720G….and yes the other one is snapdragon 750G
I flash ASAP. Currently running Android 11.
I thought nerds wouldn’t care about premium support because they’ll can always get custom ROMs
You could flash a custom OS and get updates for much longer
Maybe time to upgrade from my RN7 since it doesn’t look like we’ll get MIUI12 anyway.
Mediatek 720 and Snapdragon 750G
Which is weird, there is not even a single MIUI12 beta, despite being on Android 10
Maybe annouce happens on december?
Redmi series annouces every 6 months.
But that’s just mine theory!
