I was there! Sadly it rained very hard so it was actually difficult to stay in line, and the queue wrapped around the building, I was surprised by the amount of people there. Xiang Wang, SVP of Xiaomi Global, was there to cut the ribbon.
I saw the ribbon being cut too. Unfortunately the rain and long line meant I didn’t get to go in :(.
Why were people there? No Android One, why care?
I think even the ceo of xiaomi even passed by very quickly, there was a crowd movement, then he went back to the bar accross the street, they had a key note in paris, a lot of the xiaomi executive were present.
Hey, Tom452820038, just a quick heads-up:
**accross** is actually spelled **across**. You can remember it by **one c**.
Have a nice day!

Free phones for the first 3 people to enter and then free music accessories for the other 147 to enter. That’s why
Better answer than expected.
Nothing on Miui is worth all the downsides.
Stop lying to yourself.
which downsides?
Whoa is this your photo? Heard about the launch but didn’t realize the crowds were so huge!
Hate Xiaomi all you want, but their products offer insane value for money.
Bought the mi wallet, backpack, 20,000 mah, power bank, mi band 2 and might be picking up the mi Phillips bulbs, tooth brush and more soon.
They’re disrupting the market but the stigma of being a ‘Chinese’ company remains, where people think it’s poor quality.
When they realise it’s not, it’s a sight to behold.
Imo it’s a question of likes and dislikes. I have a mi A1 and I love android one. The fact that there is no miui is what’s made me go A1. My friend bought RN5+ and I don’t mind but as I tested It I wasn’t considering miui an option.
Re: product quality I think of them as the IKEA of gadgets..
Waiting for Romania one.
Except their high end phones. The Mix line especially.
> the stigma of being a ‘Chinese’ company remains, where people think it’s poor quality.
There is a timeline to this process where what is previously considered cheap and low quality becomes seen as quite good(by the mainstream).
And because its a narrative issue and globalization this time line in case of China will be the shortest it has ever been for previous new manufacturer states.
Its going to shock people more because of that short turn-around time.
It will happen in a few years not decades and that will have unseen consequences.
Does the Mi Router 3 have any Gigabit ports? That’s a must-have for me.
The Mi 3 doesn’t but the 3G does, I have one running Padavan, the stock firmware is pretty rubbish (and I don’t trust it).
Only downside is their aggressive power management. But that can be switched off in developers options.
I contemplated loading LOS on my MIX 2, but still haven’t after half a year.
Yup, MIUI 9 in its current state is snappy af. I don’t have an amazing phone, just a Redmi 4x 3gb and it never freezes or anything, also the aggressive power management like the other user said can be disabled and the phone stays as snappy. I’ve compared other phones of similar specs with stock-ish android and i don’t feel that much of a difference in speed between the two.
Xiaomi is taking over the world by storm and this is good
I was skeptical at first too, when I bought my Mi5 which was half the price than the S7 and they offered pretty much the same, after I bought it, my whole family moved to Xiaomi devices.
Oh no now the chinese goverement knows we brush teeth too! /s
How are the prices? I checked on mi.fr and it’s slightly disappointing.
And that we use it 2 minutes longer than Timmy in China. Someone go teach Timmy how to brush his teeth!
You should type “mi. Com/fr”
