Absolutely the same, looks like system UI got some broken update, since it flashes the wallpaper for me on startup and then automatically reboots.

Same problem, MIUI Recovery 5.0, rebooting, turning off and on again doesn’t work.
And from what i’ve readed on the internet wiping data won’t work either so don’t try it.

Same issue here. I wiped the phone and it worked, although the ui reverted back to the older version, so it’s 100% the ui update that messed it up

Wiping won’t work completly, it will throw you back to an older version of miui but once you make update the problem will appear again, if you’d ask me the single option is to wait for an update from xiaomi that will fix this

Cincerly don’t know, but from what I see the single options we have are, to wait for update or to wipe data to revert to an older version.

Poco x5pro, same here. Wiped the data and wasted 2 hours reinstalling and configuring everything again. Seems ok for now. I see the old ui, not the one they pushed with an update yesterday. Xiaomi, never again for me. I’m sick of it.

they reverted the update, it was a system components update, If you wipe data it will work but you will lose everything. I’m waiting for a fix without deleting everything as well but dunno if it’s gonna happen…

so i just got in touch wich Xiaomi Support. they told me to let the phone run out of battery and recharge it fully before trying to reboot again or try the “wipe data” option.
The technicians seem to be working for a solution and I will be notified if there is one. As soon as i get further info, i’ll share here.

Same problem here, trying to fix my dad’s phone, did everything besides wiping the data (which I can’t wipe due to being needed for work ), attempting to drain the battery right now and praying that it will boot afterwards.
Note 12S and Note 9 both having issues, but it seems like most xiaomi models are affected.

Edit: sorry for long inactivity, in short, nothing helped, had to result in full format and data wipe, changed phone to samsung + started hosting all data locally on NAS.

They said Miflash so I guess they flashed a Fastboot ROM.

That will wipe the phone though.

    Hmm I have no idea.

What if you put the phone in Fastboot mode, connect it to the PC, and give the command from Windows CMD to boot it into recovery (“fastboot boot recovery.img” or whatever it is).

That way you flash TWRP/ORANGEFOX, boot into it and you can access your files on the phone – since it only flashed a 3rd party recovery on the phone and leaves the rest unchanged.

    It should work, shouldn’t it?

PS – just remembered, you have to have an unlocked phone though… my xiaomis are unlocked so I tend to forget.

I just edited my post – I’m not taking into consideration that:

    – you need an unlocked phone

    – your model needs to have a TWRP/Orangefox available

    – Fastboot needs to work, some users seem to indicate it doesn’t

In fact, it looks like MIUI could be sideloaded in the MIAssistant mode, but the dynamic\_partitions\_op\_list starts with:
    # Remove all existing dynamic partitions and groups before applying full OTA

    remove\_all\_groups

    which idk if deletes userdata

From what i’ve read waiting for battery to run out is one of possible solution.
And i dont think that they will leave this bug a month, these is a serious problem that will make them lose customers. Who’ll want to buy a phone that can die for a month 😀

    just spoke with an assistant.
They told me it is a global problem and that they are working on it. They also said that if you choose the option to wipe all data, it won’t work.
they told me to wait a few days, and than to call back.
The probem seems to be on every xiaomi 13 lite, at least that they know of.

So, in Italy someone started to send some messages about what the problem might be. Somneone said that an update on the playstore crashed the sistem. But doesn’t it seem strange that just one app can crash everything?
anyway if you have friends with XIAOMI/POCO/REDMI tell them to turn off all of th auomatic updates in the play store.

maybe it’s nothing, but they can try

Hi all, I’m also affected by the issue. I’ll recap what has been told by others because the discussion is already a bit messy and full of different information.
    1. The issue is caused by an update
    2. It affects multiple models and almost surely multiple sub brands (poco, redmi)
    3. Wiping data works only if you do not update to the last version again because this update is what is causing the issue
    4. Many (me included) called Xiaomi support and got answered to wait from them (I gave my email). No answers yet.
    5. Some are saying that Xiaomi support advised to let the phone, die by battery, charge it to full and try again. I wouldn’t trust this unless someone tries and it works BUT at the same time I’d let the phone run out of batter anyway since if you don’t it keeps rebooting.

I hope that Xiaomi can provide instructions to fix but I wouldn’t be surprised if after they fix the latest update they just ask to wipe data and download everything again..

From PR perspective it is really really bad for Xiaomi and I find zero info in any of their social media about this, I can guess that they want to be open about this only when a fix is ready but it is too big of an issue they need to provide updates till this is looked at..

EDIT: After another call with Xiaomi Italy support there are two options: WIPE DATA or SEND DEVICE to service center. I opted to WIPE DATA since I have a not so old backup to be recovered. I’m left speechless this is the worse tech experience ever…

Ciao a tutti.

Woke up to dead phone too.
Not a recovery mode loop, but won’t load past MIUI splashscreen.
Recovery mode opens up fine, but Reboot into system does nothing to fix.

    POCO X5 Pro 5G, Russia.

UPD: I gave up and had to resort to wiping all my data after checking another replies. Luckily, it worked, but I feel as shit.

Is it caused by a “big” MIUI / Hyper OS update or a system app update?

    Or play store update?

Thanks – so I can avoid it with Poco X6 Pro.

Well, since you have a bricked phone anyway, now is a good time to try the [xiaomi.eu](http://xiaomi.eu) rom. It’s not hard to install and it’s got goodies! 😀

Got it on Poco X5 Pro.

Wipe the data (RIP to all my photos and videos ;((((((()

Setup everything from 0, turn off all updates. At the moment everything is fine but the whole situation is outrageous. Shame on developers who let it happen ;(((((

Hello there! By store you mean physical store where they sell devices or some specific website to contact support and ask for help?

Unfortunately I might have some bad news for you folks.

I’m a POCO X5 Pro user and also got this issue today in the morning. My phone simply turned off and now is stuck in infinite boot, reboot and save mode options won’t work.

I just talked with a xiaomi assistant in my country (Poland) and the only way to fix this issue is by wiping all your data. There is no other option. I wasnt logged in on my xiaomi account so no backup for me 🙃

I also got told to try draining the battery but I don’t know how this is supposed to work, the update is still on my phone isn’t it?

I’m devastated since I lost all my photos from past year (a lot of cherished memories with my boyfriend). I was always happy with my xiaomi phones but now I hate this company and will Never again buy stuff from them.

I can’t tell exactly the reason but the issue is true of course

Hmm I read below it is from an update of the MIUI system app.
So I think disabling auto updates in the MIUI system updater should do the trick 😉

Would be nice to know the exact system app that is affected.

Same issue here with the same phone. Out of nowhere, this screen pops up, and nothing works. Xiaomi probably messed up with an update and they will never admit it 🙁 I tried every solution I could find online, but nothing worked. I don‘t want to delete all my data to just find that it didn‘t work either. Anyone know of any solutions? The phone doesn’t have usb debbuging on….so any solution related to that won’t work….

I had the same problem this morning, and successfully managed to fix it without loosing any data.

    pros – I didn’t lose any data

cons – I have Hyper OS now.

As far as I understood there was an issue with updating of some plugin, which actually belongs to the new Hyper OS.

    Steps to fix:

    0. (Not sure here) You probably need to install ADB first.

    1. Download & install [Mi Assistant 4.2.1028.10](https://miuirom.org/updates/mi-pc-suite) (it's in Chinese, patch with English is available on the same page miuirom org)

Install English patch for Mi Assistant by replacing folders in C:\\Program Files (x86)\\MiPhoneAssistant (default installation folder)

    2. Connect your phone to PC with USB (better original one).

    3. Download [Hyper OS firmware for your region](https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/hyperos/) (HyperOS Xiaomi 12T pro, you may find your phone on the same site)

Mi Assistant will show your current firmware. My phone had MIUI 14.0.18.0.TLFEUXM.

It belongs to Europe region, so I downloaded 1.0.1.0.ULFEUXM (Recovery ROM)

    4. Flash the downloaded firmware. In the Mi Assistant you need to click on second blue button “… from local …” and select the previously downloaded archive.

    5. Stay calm. Flashing takes some time and don’t believe percentage. It’s mostly fake.

    6. Your phone will automatically reboot with the new Hyper OS. Be aware, some settings might be gone (like notification sound or application folders), but all the data is in place (which is most important).

    UPD:

UPD: Connection to the phone might not work with Windows 11.

Use Windows 10 if possible. And use the original cable.

will this work is usb debbuging is not on ? My phone is locked in the loop so the Mi Assistand doens’t even have the chance to see it and my PC doesn’t see the phone because it keeps restarting over and over again and it does this for the past 7 hours.

I think you may be right. AFAIK certain apps can be updated either from the MIUI updater or from the Play Store though (correct me if I’m wrong). Until we know for sure which app is causing the issue, disabling any kind of automatic update should be safer

    Ciao,

and how did they explained that would help? keep it charged for what? so it can reboot loop forever? Will keeping it charged help in any way? :))) I will take my chances with letting it run out of battery, maybe the phone will thing I have removed the battery and finally boot when I charge again 🙁

It’s probably the 29th February. Like they have tested an update on normal dates and it worked well, but not on February 29th. I mean no one updated their Xiaomi phone in February 29th yet, at least in last 4 years

My Poco F5 (global) wasn’t affected. I’m running Hyper OS (for POCO) 1.0.3.0.UMRMIXM.
The phone alarm worked correctly too, I hope Xiaomi finds a solution that won’t involve wiping the data.

I am waiting till the battery runs out. I don’t see the point in keeping it charged.

Anyway the Xiaomi support in Italy told me not to charge it so it wont loop forever

I tried, since no one here seems to have tried, and NOTHING (I have a Xiaomi 13 Lite). Absolutely nothing.
But how can the battery be the problem? I don’t see the point on doing so, but i tried anyway and it did nothing.

But anyway, if it was that simple, how come everyone is trying different solutions?

Yes, i’m not really someone who hates manufacturers for mistakes, but for this one, fuck Xiaomi. Lost a lot of data due to someone’s incompetence, pushing untested/visibly bad updates on tons of devices all around the world. Also leaving these people without official, publicly accesible statement about the issue and/or solution or at least a date for it.

I have faced the same issue after I woke up a few hours ago. I have called Xiaomi Support and they said the only option is to use the wipe data option, they are unable to recover the data. This is unacceptable. I have went through the wiping process as I have just got the phone a few months ago and I’m lucky I did not have much to lose. Though, a bunch of photos, videos and various documents have been lost.

They told me the issue has been fixed now and the phone should not have any issues after wiping, I honestly do not trust this information at this moment and will backup any important data, I recommend the same for everyone as it seems they will not do anything if this happens again. Turn off your automatic updates.

I really do not want to leave it like this, they cannot brick our phones with an update and then say the only option is to wipe the data, they cannot get away this easily. I really do not want to go through the process of suing them, but ultimately this will be an option if they do not come back to us.

    This moment fuck xiaomi, really.
I turned off all updates as it is my 3rd xiaomi phone and updates always mess things up, at least for me and still…

First lasted (xiaomi note 3 I think) me 5 years without issues, imagine… 5 years… still working but looong loadings and a bit laggy and battery holds slightly less than full day.

Then switched to note 9 pro and had some issues when it just restarts by itself or freezes and can’t do any, so after 2 years switched to note 10 pro and it had many issues of freezes or restarts by itself. And I turned off all updates but it updates once in a while regardless… Now is a brick.
No xiaomi for me… Not reliable as before… 🖕

For some reason flash package verification fails when I choose hyperOS archive.. It says that recommended package version is V14.0.7.0.TMSMIXM (Poco x5 pro global version)

I assume they will scramble to fix the issue, I just couldn’t afford to go without a phone even for a day since my other one broke too. I wonder how long that’s going to take though. What a complete joke, rolling an update this bad is ridiculous. Edit: also what do you mean by “they reverted the update”? As in it’s safe to leave the auto update on now?

I suppose you should know, I completely drained my phone battery, and this doesn’t help at all. The phone keeps rebooting, and there is nothing I can do with it. Going to purchase Realme instead, it’s really very disappointing, I’ve had Xiaomi and Poco for 7 years…

And what’s your current firmware? (What does Mi Assistant show?)

MIUI firmware won’t help. The issue is because of plugin for Hyper OS.

It was a wrong update from Xiaomi.

Unfortunately, I don’t have another solution for you. Hopefully Xiaomi will find one without wiping the data.

I already try to detect the phone with the MiAssistance having the ADB driver install and it doesn´t work…. at the same time I was talking with the Xiaomi support in Spain and they told me to wipe the data, do a factory reset 🙁 it is the unique solution

    Thanks for your help anyway

A couple of weeks ago when I had upgraded my Mi Lite 12 to HyperOS, it suddenly rebooted and got stuck in boot loop. I spend a couple of hours trying to recover it pressing all buttons and their combinations. Even more I was unable to reach recovery menu – the phone was constantly rebooting even if I was opening recovery. What helped me: I connected it to charger and started using the same combinations: power+vol up, power+ vol down, holding power for a long time and then it successfully booted. After that I backed up all my photos and rebooted the phone again – everything was fine. Now I use the phone as usual.

Same here, in Spain with a Redmi Note 12S. I didn’t update to HyperOS and suddenly it got bricked and stuck in the MIUI RECOVERY MODE. I guess it tried to install an update automatically…I hope I don’t have to wipe data…

ok thats what i did on my wifes 12T pro.

    1. Download & install Mi Assistant 4.2.1028.10 from here: [https://miuirom.org/updates/mi-pc-suite](https://miuirom.org/updates/mi-pc-suite)

pick Mi Assistant 4.2.1028.10 — Latest.

    2. scroll down and download  English for Mi Phone Assistant

extract files and copy/paste mi\_phone\_assistant.res folder to

C:\\Program Files (x86)\\MiPhoneAssistant overwriting the original files

    3. Connect your phone to PC with USB

    4. Download Hyper OS firmware for your region

    from here

[https://miuirom.org/phones/poco-x5-pro-5g](https://miuirom.org/phones/poco-x5-pro-5g) this one for poco x5 pro, 1.0.2.0.UMSEUXM version

download the .zip recovery rom file. im from europe, so i picked earopean version.

    5. run the MiPhoneAssinstant proggram. you might have to tick twice and the menu might be in chinese at first.

    6. press the second blue balloon, dont remember what it said, but something with “flashing”, and i just

    uploaded the Zipped file.

    and it worked for me.

I’m having the same problem with my 12t pro since this morning. The hotline says the problem should be solved by tomorrow at the latest. They don’t know what the problem is. An update to an app may be to blame. The problem affects half of Europe, they told me. 🙁 Greetings from Germany

The problem is that not all phones have HyperOS available. For example 13 lite. I own one and I have no solution for that phone since there is no HyperOS for it

    >EDIT: After another call with Xiaomi Italy support there are two options: WIPE DATA or SEND DEVICE to service center. I opted to WIPE DATA since I have a not so old backup to be recovered. I’m left speechless this is

Pls tell me there’s another way dude. I have an OPTC account on that phone I’ve invested almost 4 years and a shit ton of money on it 🙄

Seems like the problem was in update of System UI Plugin for MIUI (this plugin was updated to HyperOS version instead of MIUI version and phone was crashed into bootloop).

It’s all good If you’re already on HyperOS.

Wait, really? My phone is already black, but there’s still the logo and then the “battery empty sign” after I press the power button, so it must not be 100% empty. I was still waiting to recharge it, but now I’m scared…

U mean the one having the problem is not following the update officially, they manually custom update it using external app?
So any updates are fine as long as it follow regular official/original source?

I tried and it did connect (Also Poco F5 Pro. Really nice phone… When it fucking works). Altough nothing worked, sadly – I tried flashing hyperos (Two diffrent versions, [1.0.3.0](http://1.0.3.0) and [1.0.5.0](http://1.0.5.0), they failed the verification) and miui [14.0.5.0](http://14.0.5.0) – The same i had on my phone, it did flash, phone rebooted, and what? And shit. I’m pissed. Before that I tried to drain my battery, i drained it, charged it to 100% and you know what? You guessed it – shit. If xiaomi won’t do anything about that, like, i don’t know, magically make my phone work again, I guess I’ll wait until hyperos will be available to flash from mi assistant, because I cannot afford losing all my data.

I have the same issue. I lost all data and configs. But I have my backup without configs.

    Xiami 12T Pro.

I think that Google apps + Xiaomi apps are messed up.

I would install a custom ROM instead Google + Xiaomi. But I do not know which custom ROM is good for Xiaomi 12 T Pro?

I have POCO X5. Mi Assistant is not detecting it. USB debugging or ADB is neccessery? My PC is not detecting it as a phone device but as a random device. 🙁 Any tips?

Note 1: Im using the phone’s own USB cable (of the charging brick).
Note 2: I have tried all USB ports of my PC.

    Recovery ROM vs fastboot ROM.

Which one do you recommend? I would like to reinstall OS without recovery mode.

Hi, so, you installed [Mi Assistant 4.2.1028.10](https://miuirom.org/updates/mi-pc-suite) and it doesn’t recognize your phone, right?

I’m not sure, maybe you additionally need to install adb drivers.

Hello, one question, how did you get the Mi phone assistant to detect your phone? It doesn’t detect mine, or at least not quick enough to prevent the recovery menu from appearing again.

I read you say that it detected yours fine even though the phone was still rebooting constantly.

Here I’m not sure, but maybe you need adb drivers installed on your PC.
Phone stopped rebooting after being recognized by Mi Assistant

It gives “**Fash package verification failed Unknown error \[2015\]**” on any ROM, tried around 20 different files, for different regions and with different versions…. Still the same error =((

This worked for me, have had other successful confirmations, but also others who were not getting past the flashing stage with different errors… but worth a try before having to bite the bullet and going for wipe data…

Recently I faced the same issue with my Redmi Note 9, but as you have mentioned letting device consume all its battery seemed to work for me. Since my phone battery was pretty low before getting stuck in the reboot loop. I think this came after the security update in the system.

My 13T Pro got stuck in bootloop after I update from MIUI 13 to MIUI 14.

Sent to Mi service. They wipe the phone. Then installed MIUI 14 for me.

They asked me not to update. But I wonder how is my security patch going to be taken care of, if no update is possible…

Maybe need to take the phone to Mi Service to update everytime

Mi asssisntat needs the phone’s bootloader to be unlocked.
I’m 100% sure I allowed USB debugging at some point, but now when I start up the Mi Unlock tool it says that it can’t connect.
So apperantly it’s back on locked.
I read that it’s not possible to unlock the bootloader while the phone is in this restarting loop.
I have access to my xioami account which helps I guess

Mi Suite does not recognize Xiaomi 12T Pro with its original USB cable. I tried it on two different computers Windows 11 with the latest version of update, that didn’t help.

    Do you have any idea?

I just called, and they said that the only solutions recieved by xiomi is to wipe all data.
I am really scared to do it, since yesterday they told me to NOT wipe all data cause it would have take me to the same MIUI recovery 5.0 page.

    Idk what to do.
I can’t even “update” it manually to HyperOS, because right now it’s not made for mi xiaomi 13 Lite.
    Has someone obtained new solutions?

I’m on a custom rom so I’m immune but jesus christ. How does this even happen? I warned a family member in time. The ones who are safe right now are custom rom users and people who unlocked their bootloaders as they can just flash the official rom manually again and retain their data. These are also the same users xiaomi have recently been trying to get rid of recently with the new restrictions.

If they want to lock people into their things completely without any control, the least they could do is not brick the devices lol.

Oh, well if it’s absolutely important then I’ll try to explain how you could get it fixed.

So, if you have an unlocked bootloader, you can just flash the stock rom to the device with the option of retaining the data. Since you’re just flashing the same rom over it, it won’t have issues and will retain your data.

I don’t think you have an unlocked bootloader. There’s still a solution though. Service centers have authorized mi accounts that can flash roms on locked devices as well.

But the whole process is still messy lol. Also, due to special circumstances, the service center solution might not apply to me if I faced this issue.

For ALL that can‘t update to Hyper OS because their phone has no release yet:

Is it possible with the xiaomi assistant tool to flash WITHOUT losing data the latest original ROM that is recommended in the assistant tool? Because I see here that i it possible without erasing Data. But I‘m scared to try:

Once a custumer, never a customer to this company again. This proves how bad of a customer service they offer and how bad they can fuc\*\*\* up things to the point that you have to wipe all your data. 🙁

Their price are not even attactive any more ast hey are priced very close to samsung nowadays, even if samsung has flaws too, at least they have a customer service you can rely on….

I have a Poco F5 and followed the “steps” with Mi Phone Assistant to flash a recovery ROM (stock ROM europe version) but i can’t upgrade to the lastest 1.0.4.0.UMREUXM cause of error:”flash package verification failed”, and trying with the current version of the firmware MIUI 14.0.9.0.TMREUXM it gets to the 33% on pc and 4.99% on cellphone only to boot again in recovery in loop… If possible I don’t want to wipe all the data to get back my phone but it seems the only possible way as I don’t think Xiaomi will release a new version of the Mi Assistant or Firmware soon enough… Does anybody have some tips for this particular case?

Idk actually. I think it’s because of a manual installation. In the “System apps updater” I’ve updated a couple of apps(like notepad, music etc.). And a couple of minutes after the phone crashed

But the thing is that my friend didn’t even install anything, the update just got loaded automatically. So tbh I’m not sure if you’re safe from this shit even if you won’t update anything

Im currently trying to flash my Poco X5 Pro with the new HyperOS but it keeps getting errors during the verification process. I downloaded the Mi assistant and the English patch but when im trying to load the zip file with the Hype OS update it gives me errors. I downloaded the global version as the phones version ends in MIXM. Any tips?

For everyone else that lives in Greece, they told me that they company responsible for Xiaomis Technical support in Athens is still trying to get the relevant software so the people can get give them their phones and not lose their data. Otherwise they told me to wipe all data.

EDIT: just called them again, they told me to send my phone to the nearest xiaomi store so they can fix it without me losing my data, they also told me that i can get a replacement phone for 50 euros and when i return it they will give me back my money

EDIT 2: just came back from the store, they told me it will take 2 weeks, meanwhile they gave me a redmi note 11, not very happy about this but still better than my older 2019 huawei.

Same situation and same problems for me with a Poco F5 pro … (different global ROMs for my phone)

Using same rom as currently on device it got stuck at 4.99%. How is that possible ?!
I asked XIAOMI support for a solution but they don’t have one yet 🙁

    Hi,

I’m from Italy and I also have a 12T Pro.

I try to follow your steps but I’m stuck with the download of HyperOs Firmware.

My phone had the same MIUI as you: 14.0.18.0.TLFEUXM and when I searched the 1.0.1.0.ULFEUXM (Recovery ROM) on the link you had passed, I found 5 different downloads. What download you choose to permit The MiPhoneAssistant to start to work with flashing?

I downloaded the first 3 but I’m stuck with this error: Flash package verification failed. The selected ROM package does not match the currently connected phone model or other reasons. Recommended flash package version: V14.0.18.0 TLFEUXM

This is the link I follow to download the firmware: [https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/hyperos/diting/stable/OS1.0.1.0.ULFEUXM/](https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/hyperos/diting/stable/OS1.0.1.0.ULFEUXM/)

Sorry if I’m asking you before to complete downloads of all of the 5 types of firmware, but my internet connection is really bad and I need some hours to download even than only one of these zips.

Can you help me, please? T.T

    Hi,
This is the right one: 1.0.1.0.ULFEUXM (Recovery ROM)

You are not alone with this issue. I had conversation with several other owners of 12T Pro with the same problem, even though we have the same model. I’m not yet sure why we have a difference.

If it’s possible for you and you don’t want to lose any data, I suggest to wait a couple of days for a new release. I can’t guarantee it happens, but at least this night Xiaomi released a fresh firmware for Russian region.

    UPD:

    There might be one clue.
Try to update it to MIUI 14.0.19.0.TLFEUXM first. [https://miuirom.org/phones/xiaomi-12t-pro](https://miuirom.org/phones/xiaomi-12t-pro)

Hi, sorry for my late response.

It is difficult to say the correct order, but I tried the most common combinations as I wrote above. Try connecting the charger and press all of them one by one after the phone reboots.

I just talked with an agent and this are the options he gave me:

    1. Wipe data

    2. (Unofficial) Connect the phone to a pc via usb a try to do a security copie and then wipe data

    3. Send the phone to an certified service center and they will try to flash the software the fastest they can. But he didnt guarantee this will solve the reset.

I have the screenshots (but are in spanish), if someone wants it.

Hola.

When I try to do this it says my phone needs to be unlocked. I tried unlocking it, but you need to login to your Mi account… After I managed to do that I need to add a number to my account. I tried adding my dad’s number and my brother’s but I get no verification SMS. So I am stuck on trying to unlock the phone. Anyone else? Any other fix. How the fuck is there no official response from Xiaomi

    No need to unlock it.
You need to download **Recovery ROM** (not fastboot)

On you phone select “Connect with MIAssistant”

Same issue here. Poco X5 Pro Global version.

Problem is caused by upgrade to HyperOS which had been pushed to open public on 29th Feb. Xiaomi support sometimes replies to users with false claims it’s caused by Google update. That’s not true.

I have 2 Poco X5 Pro phones. Luckily only one received the upgrade on 29th. The other one didn’t and I see Xiaomi stopped the roll-out as the phone right now doesn’t even show that an update is available.

I tried manually installing the update by downloading HyperOS 1.0.2.0.UMSMIXM Recovery ROM from miuirom web site. Many people with F5 phones claimed this method worked for them as instead of relatively small OTA build this way we’re installing 4GB package, but for me it didn’t work. Mi Phone Assistant verification fails and update is not allowed.

Installing previous ROM works fine, but then the phone continues to try to install the OTA update it has already prepared for installation on flash memory and continues to boot-loop.

If there was a way to delete the OTA update from flash then boot should succeed.

For people who unlocked their phone for installation of custom ROMs, they have also the Fastboot method available. For me it’s locked in Mi Phone Assistant.

I wiped the data. This removed the OTA update from flash, obviously together with all the apps and photos, and at last the phone booted fine.

I don’t think Xiaomi will find a way to resolve this problem, even though the scale of the issue is astronomical.

    Never more Xiaomi.

Are all of the affected devices on the latest or newer miui versions?
Can the people whose devices had the problem share their FW prior to the bootloop?

I am on 12.5.1.0 on my Poco f3, the OS is about 2 years old for my device as I do not have the habit of updating the FW to avoid problems like this.
I am wondering if my ancient FW is also vulnerable to this problem.
    Thanks

    I have Poco X5 Pro 5G too.

    Verification failed for me also.

I’m downloading miui V14.0.5.0 since it’s what the MiAssistant recommended.

I will try to flash it, is it possible to disable the updates and at least get a backup before it applies the update and softbrick again?

Or disable them for good and continue using the phone as it is?

Hello. I’m currently trying to follow your guide and managed only to get my phone recognised by Mi Assistant, but it asks me to unlock my phone first. I downloaded the Mi Unlock Tool but it requires me to enter my phone number to verify, which I can’t do, because it lets me only input the phone number minus the country code, and the code dropdown menu is sorta unresponsive and doesn’t let me click my country code. Is there any way around this?

    Hi,
    No need to unlock it.
You need to download **Recovery ROM** (not fastboot)

On your phone select “Connect with MIAssistant”

Yeah , what you had told is fully truth. My Xiaomi MI 8 is also suffering a bootloop.  If there aren’t any Xiaomi authorized repair centers nearby, it is useless to contact them as they won’t provide any useful info.  I have not been able to fix the device yet.
    ═════════ ◈ ═════════
A word to all the other Xiaomi users including new ones: by going to settings > about > tap build number few time to enable Dev settings > go back to settings > additional settings > (at the bottom) developer settings > “Allow OEM unlocking”. I would also recommend to enable USB debugging if possible because those settings would be a great help to you if your phone got stuck in a bootloop as you can unlock your device (if locked) and install/degrade/upgrade your device using a ROM.
    ═════════ ◈ ═════════
Enabling USB debugging is somewhat riskier if you have got many friends and share with them. Have a great week ahead😊💕

You haven’t provided you environment. Little bit hard to guess what might go wrong.
    Windows 11 doesn’t work. Use Windows 10 or 7.
On your phone enter “Connect with MIAssistant”
Use original USB cable. Try different USB ports.
If you have Windows 10, try another PC.

On this phone, I made a request to send it to Xiaomi. I called them on Friday and they told me I have two options: either wipe data, or send it to them and they will fix it without wiping the data. I made the request and waiting now for the pick up service to call me, they were supposed to call me today to pick it up but still nothing.
Discussed directly with Xiaomi on the matter, on mi-home.ro which is their official store here in Romania .

Long queue on phones waiting to be fixed my Xiaomi.
Curious if they really have a solution to fix it without wiping data because I also talked to a xiaomi official service and they were not yet sure if there is a way … after 5 days still waiting for a solution

Xiaomi is full of shit again. I called the service that was supposed to pick up my phone and they told me that there is nothing they can do if the software got broken by Xiaomi with the update and they cannot save my data. Most probably they will just factory reset the phone and wipe it all, which is exactly the opposite Xiaomi told me when I called them…..ma\*\*\*\*\*\*d \*\*\*\*\*d

German Xiaomi support offered me 2 solutions:

Wiping data or sending it in to fix without losing my data.

I wiped my data and recovered most things with my Google Backup. It now works again and I disabled automatic updates.
    I have a 13 Lite.

Okay so, I’ve been trying to fix my mom’s phone which has been stuck on the same hyperOS bootloop (Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE). Managed to connect the phone via Mi assistant, selected the (hopefully) proper rom (1.0.1.0.UKOEUXM), it started flashing, no problems so far. Phone gets stuck at 4.99% every time, on PC it continues as it’s supposed to be, then says “flash succesful” – phone reboots, I get all hopeful, and then I’m just stuck with the same loop again. Boots for a few secs into OS as usual, then starts to reboot with the hyperOS screen over and over. Any tips?

My family member had the same problem. After update, his phone mic not working then he restarted the phone. Boom, infinite bootloop happened. Sent his phone to 3rd party repair shop. He said they just remove the battery ,reinsert it, reconnect the ribbons and VOILA! it fixes all the problems. Only 3$ wasted. No data lost and phone works like normal. Hope this can help others.

man, you are a hero 🙂 thanks again !

I was stuck as well in this MIUI Recovery menu since a few days on, my Xiaomi 12T Pro (probably due to their latest update), was really afraid of losing everything (did not want to click that Wipe Data button) and you saved me.

First i had the error that others had (wrong firmware version), but i apparently had to first, update to the latest MIUI version (i was in version 14.0.17), i downloaded the firmware 14.0.18.0.TLFEUXM from another site, flashed the phone (which rebooted in the MIUI recovery again even after the flash to 14.0.18) and then i was able to “flash again” using 1.0.1.0.ULFEUXM (which seem to only work if you are on 14.0.18 MIUI) and finally the phone booted again to the OS!.

i am now saving all my data to avoid similar situations in the future. Anyway, thanks again !

PS : thankfully, i also had an “old” laptop with Windows 10 on it as their Mi Assistant software was indeed not able to recognize my phone in the recovery menu on my Windows 11 PC (apparently this is expected as their software is not “officially” compliant with Windows 11).

i have created a reddit account just to say thank you 🙂

procedure can’t be performed. The phone keeps rebooting, therefore MiAssistant can’t communicate with it. also MiAssistant keeps crashing when trying to talk with the phone, gives what i suppose is an error message in chinese ( even if english patch is applied ) and crash.

I managed to do everything but the Mi assistant refuses to validate the downloaded firmware 🙁 I tried the one on the official website first, then downloaded various files from different sites hoping that one would work, but none passed the validation procedure. At this point I’m at a loss. Does wiping all data work? Is it possible to reset to factory settings? Is it plausible they will roll out a solution for this or are we on our own?

It might be possible that they have a release which was not yet uploaded to firmware sites.

Wiping the data works. If you have nothing to lose, this is the fastest way.

    Hello! I need HELP!

I fowolled the instructions here by VeterinarianHot7008, but I think my POCO F5 has gone softbricked.

I downloaded Mi Assistant, patched, and flashed my MIUI 14.0.8.0.TMRMIXM My current version. I flashed twice, and let 15 minutes to the phone to reboot and reload and actualize. No changes.

Then I used the GLOBAL VERSION of HyperOS, Global HyperOS 1.0.3.0.UMRMIXM, because Mi Assistant did not accepted any other one for my phone.

Well, then some things happened after some minutes of rebooting and reloading:

First, the Bootloader Menu changed to “HyperOS System”

Second, the Bootloader Menu changed back to “MIUI System”

Third time, after several minutes, my phone got stuck in POCO logo, rebooting after few seconds, going nowhere.

I forced the Bootloader menu pressing ON/OFF and sound buttons, but then I got stuck in Bootloader LOGO.

I connected the phone to the PC. Now it’s recognized as “Android”. Before it was recognized and “Marble”.

Mi Assistant says that I must unlock the Bootloader menu, but I can’t without a program of some kind.

Xiaomi miflash\_unlock\_en\_7\_6\_727\_43 says that unlocking the Bootloader Menu means erasing all data.

So, any explanation or suggestions? Thank you very much in advance!

My wife had the same problem after the update. Called customer service and was told to send the phone in and they would save your data. Today her cell phone arrived back home (after 3 days) and everything is working again and the data is ALL there. Kind regards from Germany

Just got the phone back from (ufficial Xiaomi) support. They give me back the phone with no data, despite the xiaomi chat support assured me that the phone would be working and with data.

My phone had the unlock sequence enabled before the update and I know for sure that another phone, with no unlock secure code, returned back with the original data. How many with this similar situation?

Nah I just remembered I had the backup and did it. I did lose my pictures because I hadn’t backed them up but luckily I didn’t have that many.

Edit: Nvm I misread. They did not tell me how they would do it, just that they can fix it without losing the data.

I woke up today, and im faced with “PARTY RECOVERY” or some shit. just bootloops into recovery mode. (which) i have rooted, flashed twrp, and was on xiaomi EU which i havent changed anything in along time. its been a month or two since the last update for this phone. or last one i had done. Phone died late last night, i got the 30sec shutdown notice, i placed it on charge, but it had shutdown. i went to sleep, laying the device where i always do. to find it stuck in recovery, i tried reflashing the latest firmware i had installed, wiping factory data reset, nothing. instantly starts to “setup” gets passed wifi screen to where it stays stuck. left for 30 min and was still there. cant detect fastboot, nor can i decrypt my password via twrp (WHICH WORKS UNLOCKING THE DEVICE UPON START UP) so ive no mfn clue what to do at this point. my last backup wasnt pulled from the phone to my pc. so, im atm stuck with a 5 year old paperweight.

Hi, thanks for this manual! It is working (at least to the step of flashing) One update for people flashing the OS now: since your post, new ROM was issued by Xiaomi (1.02) and Mi Assistant does not accept it. So The original OS 1.01 has to be downoaded from other links than you presented (but still it is the same page)

[EDIT] Ok, new problem: afyer flashing the phone is booting to lock screen and everything works fine untill I drow the unlocking picture. After this, the phone is freezing – any ideas how to solve this?

I confirm what Acrobatic-Service-41 wrote: look for the original OS with 1.01 number.
I downloaded 1.02 and Mi Assistant wasn’t happy but asteroid downloading 1.01, flash starter with no problems

    > POCO X5 Pro

Hi, I have POCO X5 Pro too, but I changed all settings when I bought the phone a year ago, so updates are not downloading and installing automatic, and my question is, the problem is happening with MIUI installed and then when the phone installs the update for “system plugin update”, am I right?

I ask this just to clarify, because I had the HyperOS update downloaded but not installed because I read somewhere that this problem happens when I install the HyperOS update, is that true?

You shouldn’t worry. Hyper OS is okay.
But be aware there could be a risk of unexpected issues. That’s a new OS. I suggest doing a backup anyway.

The issue was only with one wrong system app update, which was removed from the update list the same day (February 29).

If anyone is still facing this issue, I just got my wife’s Xiaomi 13 lite back from Xiaomi’s recommended service in Romania. Even though the service wanted to wipe all data because they didn’t have a solution to the problem, I insisted on having them talk with Xiaomi about this and ask about the solution.

After 2 weeks of going back and forth because they didn’t know if the warranty covered this and so on, they finally sent me the phone back, and all the data is still there and the phone is working as normal.

    Good luck!

Not sure if this information is there already, but anyone who had issues with Xiaomi 11 lite 5G NE and new OS1.0.1.0.UKOEUXM update, feel free to update to OS1.0.3.0.UKOEUXM with full Recovery ROM via MiPhoneAssistant (don’t use Incremental update, it will not work). This version fixed the restart loop issue for me and also for some people I’ve been in contact with. The steps are the same as mentioned above.

I did not, we ended up sending the phone in to xiaomi, just got it back working and with all data still intact, so I guess contacting xiaomi customer service would be your best bet

Ritieni che l’update da MIUI 13 a 14 abbia migliorato o peggiorato le prestazioni generali del 12T PRO? Ci sono stati problemi di compatibilità con le applicazioni?

Bro this happened to me years back , has been 3 years now , they still haven’t fixed this I see !! .. I had a poco x2 , after a update , first my camera didn’t work , then after some time , my touch screen.. just today I saw some video and decided to try methods but still haven’t fixed it … The issue is I can’t click on anything cause my screen doesn’t work ! If someone can help me out do tell me ( I have already tried wiping data but this doesn’t remove the updates which bricked my phone )

I don’t really know. Somebody posted this for their mi 12t, we had exactly the same phone, we tried, it worked. So i reposted the procedure.

And it didn’t wipe the data, only had to change back the ringtone and few minor bits

I’ve tried and done everything correctly… The phone was bricked on latest miui , upgraded to first hyper os give an error , upgrade to latest miui ( same of the one bricked ) gave another error . I’m sure mi flash , cable , rom versions and area were correct . I factory reset and everything is working but lost data ( the customer told me to do so)

Hello, for those who don’t know how to solve it after the method above didn’t work, you can try what I did:

I have a Redmi Note 10 Pro, the last official update was MIUI 14.0.9. Download the Recovery from of the same website of the OP’s HyperOS but keep the same version (so don’t switch to HyperOs but go for the MIUI 14.0.x, depending on which you have). Reboot your phone to recovery mode, go to mi assistant, flash that from in your phone.

After the flash is complete let it boot and you should not be able to use it like before.

Now take a keyboard (with separate numbers keys if possible) and attach it to the phone (if you have a passcode like I did), most phones will have usbc so you’d just need a USB hub to USB c form amazon.

Turn on your phone by clicking once the power button, hit enter on the keyboard, write in the numbers’ keys your passcode.

There you should see your phone unlocking and having all the apps outside of folders (if you had any), and you’re ready to use it again. I recommend enabling USB debugging and making a backup with mi assistant or else you might have before any restart of the phone.

This is an hardware issue, when volume up and down button gets shorted. Remove ur cover and give some taps n kicks on volume button till Both the buttons should work independently(+ button should navigate upwards and – button should navigate downwards independently). Then try to reboot it will work.

Got the same phone, flashed it to MIUI 14 (was on 13 previously) and it didn’t work, went right back to the bootloop sady.

It shouldn’t be the same problem, but I resolved the hard way… Through a reset from fastboot. If you do not need your data back, or you have a quite recent backup, give it a try and simply reset. If, instead you need to recover the data then seek some help from someone geekier than me…

I had the same issue, and I found a solution in a YouTube video comment that worked for me. Sharing it here so it might help you too:

    1. First Step: Click on ‘Reboot System’ and immediately long-press the Volume Up + Volume Down + Power button together at the same time.

    2. Second Step: Keep holding the buttons for around 15 seconds. You might need a few tries, but eventually, the phone will restart on its own without erasing or wiping your data.

    3. Final Step: Once the phone restarts, I recommend quickly backing up all your data. This is optional, but it’s better to be safe so you don’t face this issue again in the future.

I hope this helps someone facing the same problem!

just download the firmware that the mi assistant software tells you its avail and then go download it from the browser because the software stuck at zero but from the browser it is so easy

and then from mi assistant locate the rom and install it I hope it works with you guys

it worked with my redmi note 10 pro

The fix is to go into MI. Assistant. If it shows to plug in your phone just do that and leave it. It would restart itself and start working.

This is for Recovery mode 3.0 which is what I saw on my mum’s phone. She uses a Redmi 9 by the way.

Don’t. There too much moisture in the fridge. It will ruin the internal parts.
