I don’t know if this is common among all Xiaomi phones but I’ve never used a phone with a screen this durable. I’m careless, my phone has fallen not less than 25 times this year. There was a week at work where it fell from my table at work daily.
I’ve never had a phone that wasn’t cracked in the first few months. My previous phone a Galaxy S8+ was in pieces before I laid it to rest. The phone before that, an iPhone 6s+ literally cracked the following day after purchase.
This phone is still in pristine condition. No screen guard. I just want to give it up for Xiaomi.
Yeah, usually Iphones crack easily, samsungs crack because of the curved display, it’s more about design then the glass
Had the s8 myself. I never broke the screen and I only dropped it 3 times (in 2.5 years) but one day the power button just decided to fall off. Currently have the Poco F3 and I hope it lasts longer.
Mine has fallen 4 times i think, but i have a thick TPU case, very good to prevent damage. but my friend also have a 9T, uses without case, he dropped in a granite desk (hit rigth on the screen corner), and bam, cracked screen. i told him to use a case, but he didn’t listen…
I’ve had my 9t 2 years now and the only damage to the front is a tiny chip on the bottom left. Considering that I have dropped it well over 20times on all kinds of surfaces, I would say it’s held up very well indeed.
I had a Samsung galaxy s9 beforehand and was super careful with it, even buying a Whitestone dome screen protector for around £50 and the screen broke in my pocket after crouching down at work. The screen broke a further 2 times during my ownership and I decided I would never buy a phone with a curved screen again.
I’m still extremely happy with my 9t and feel no need to upgrade for at least another year.
I’ve had my Mi 11 Ultra for 2 months and never used a case or screen protector. And I’ve carelessly dropped it on its back and front multiple times and the ceramic and GG victus is just so much stronger and durable than any of the previous GG.
My 9SE is also built like a tank. It fell so many times from my hand but the screen never cracked.
Dropped my 9T pro at least 100 times since it’s been in my hands and I can tell you now, am I glad to have this phone.
Have gorilla 5 on my mi note 10 lite and it has tons of scratches.
WHOA, my Mi 9T is almost 2 years already and it doesn’t have a scratch on it unlike how my other phones were before. It really is durable, I’m so lucky I chose it.
my old redmi note 4 is almost 4 years old without screen protector and the body is in worse shape than the screen
I’ve also dropped it more then 10 times, 2 times on a concrete floor and i only got scratches on the side frame, this phone is extremely durable.
This is interesting because I got Mi9ts for both me and my wife and it has been the worst gorilla glass experience I’ve had on a device in awhile. My wife is pretty careless, so dings and scratches are expected, but I am generally very careful and have gotten dings and scratches myself. My mi8 seemed indestructible. Mi 9t not so much.
The Mi 9T Pro I had fell a handful of times (had a ringke case) 0 issues.. Until it fell once screen down on cobblestone (from my pocket as I was leaving the car) and screen + fingerprint sensor were dead 😭
my mi5 is 4 yrs +old and no scratches on the front, back glass got shattered, replaced 10+ tempered glasses. I dropped it 50+ times (once in the gym on some weights) and never even remotely scared of the phone not working lol
I had a MI A2 Lite, I don’t think it even has Gorilla Glass, I’m probably just as careless, once I was running to get the bus in time, then the phone jumped out of the pocket and it bounced the screen some three times on concrete. I thought to myself “now it’s done for, goddammit” and there it was, perfectly fine.
Same on redmi note 8. Gorilla Glass my ass.
Mine got a big deep scratch on it the first day I owned it lol. I think it was from my keys in my pocket. So far that’s it though. I drop it on a fairly regular basis and have had it for about a year now. Pretty impressed. Compared to my old iPhones, Huaweis, and Samsungs its the most durable phone I’ve ever owned.
I have Ringke case and I dropped my mi 9t few times really hard..
Everything is still fine..
It really is outside of my wife’s diamond ring, she placed the phone down screen up, and then slapped the back of her hand, diamond toward the screen and cracked it. She’s got a mi 11 ultra now, but outside of that diamond crack the screen is perfect haha
Harder the glass, better the scratch resistance but brittle on shattering. iPhone Xs generation is among the best, watch jerryrigeverything drop test
Yeah, but if it’s so brittle that even dropping it from half a meter completely shatters it then there’s not really a reason for it to be scratch resistant.
they’re not that brittle I have dropped my XR a couple times already from waist height and its good.
My classmate got her iphone 12 and dropped it from the bed, it instantly shattered half of the screen, same thing happened with another girl who dropped it on wooden floor in front of my eyes, screen completely broken(it was an iphone 8 tho), so this is what I based my assumption on, and I already dropped my mi 9t 3 times from 1,5 meters on concrete and I only have minimal scratches on the steel, that’s it. i may have spread misinformation, but this is obviously based on my point of view and experience
I have mi9t for almost 2 years and while screen isn’t cracked it’s heavily scratched on the sides. I don’t know how it happened, I don’t hold it in my pocket with keys or similar
Unfortunately it doesn’t have factory screen protector.
Yeah i dropped mine to rock when it doesn’t have any case and it didn’t do anything on screen.
It’s one of my biggest regrets that I went with the 9T back then. Sure they didn’t have the pro available at the time but I could have waited. It sounds like the perfect phone
They can break when paired with the right object. I broke mine twice. First time I put my phone and car keys in the same pocket. When I took my phone out after a couple hours, the key had pierced the screen. The second time I had it in the same bag as my house keys and my friend sat on the bag. FML. Ironically on both the instances my tempered glass was broken so I removed and delayed getting a new one.
It’s all about luck. Drop it at a bad angle and it will shatter. I dropped my phone from 1,5 meters to a ceramic toilet and nothing happened, my fried dropped her new phone on a carpet from a coffee table 0,6 meters high and her screen shattered because it fell just right at the corner of the screen.
Yeah, but how it falls is also depending on weight distribution and structure
Did it drop screen first though? Dropping it on it’s sides or back and surviving isn’t all that impressive xD
I had a rugged phone that I literally threw off a house (threw it to somebody to catch it) from like 9 meters or so and it hit the pavement on it’s side and it was perfectly fine afterwards.
But dropping it screen first is a different issue. Now for my rugged phone, this was less of an issue since it’s sides would protrude past the screen, so unless there was something else on the ground, like a pebble, the screen would be fine. Pretty sure for the new iphones, the screen protrudes past the sides, which means that any sort of drop has a chance to shatter the screen.
no regular phome with glass screen will survive display droo on concrete
Same case, think i drop it every day, not a scratch on it.
My redmi note 7 dropped at least 30 times on ceramic tiles at height more than 1.5 m. Front glass never cracked. I think having plastic sides is helpful with drop resistance.
I know my 10t pro have 3 layer gorilla 5 and free replace screen first 6 month in Sweden.
,…..
Samsung pay 80$ extra for insurance then 40$ charge if use insurance
And thats on s20 fe w gorilla 3 1 layer
Xiaomi good service
Mine has million micro scratches on it, though they are unnoticeable on normal use/screen on. My back glass broke though, I dropped it naked(no case on) to concrete lol
>**I’m literally built differently!**
\- Mi 9T
I’ve only one small scratch on mine. I keep looking for excuses to buy a new phone but I just can’t any.
Great phone. I just put pixel experience on and it works a treat.
Got the same phone here….used it for like 4 months then the screen went black…..everything works except for the display….touch and fingerprint still functioning……u guyz know how to fix my prob?
Men my 9t pro really is built different. It didn’t shattered the front glass but it shattered the display. RIP
