Good morning Reddit,

I bought last week this vacuum robot cleaner and at first it was great, until 2 days ago I noticed more features in my app ( firmware update or app update) and now it became a useless piece of dumb tech.

At first, when I got it mapped the apartment, I couldn’t name the rooms and it worked well.

Then 2 days ago it started redrawing the map with complete NONSENSE. it would hit a wall and instead, the map would just keep on drawing another room.

Even resetting it and putting it in a controlled environment (a well-lit square hallway, It would draw a map of London instead of the square room. Of course it also doesn’t go back to the dock since it thinks dock is in some imaginary room, keeps on trying and hitting walls for a bit and just gives up.

I tried:
\-detailed cleaning
\- hard reset,
\- clearing cache
\-reinstalling the entire app
\- turning features on and off
\-resetting map many times
\-starting it from a button instead of the app
\- checking wifi, switching of AP’s….

I believe this to be a software issue since it can’t be a coincidence that it all started on the same day I got more features showing in the app, but I don’t know.

can anyone suggest to me some things to try or should I just return it, in this state, it’s not useful to me, if I wanted a dumb vacuum I’d just get a 50$ one from Lidl.
