As the title says. Ive been using my old phone for 6 years and finally decided to afford a new one and after a few days I noticed that the camera bump, is either not glued perfectly or is simply botched. It feels like this will void any IP rating whatsoever which is crucial for me.
The grayish stuff is not dirt and I can slide my nail in there slightly.

Is this normal or should I send it back?
Send it back. Gap will nullify ip rating and protection.
Does that area flex when your press on that?
Let me check and Ill get back to you. Should I press hard?
Just a lite press will be ok u can easy feel if there’s a flex
Light press didnt do much. Heavier press did VERY VERY slightly compress it. But really its barely visible by eye.
I don’t mind the visuals, im just worried that the water will get in eventually. I watched a few teardown videos and it seems like the lens should be laser welded to the back place no? There shouldnt’ be any glue afaik.
Ip 6.7
It’s won’t affect the IP rating as the insulation is from the inside for all gaps including the charger and speaker areas.
This is what I wanted to know. Is it possible that the water will come in contact with the camera? AFAIK this should be laserwelded to the back case right?
Maybe its just the outer “bezel” of the camera thats glued on? So the actual square bump is still properly welded?
If there is a flex even at a small level go to the customer care and exchange the device as of now it may not be a problem but after a year or so due to aging it may pose some issues.
Send it back and get another one, don’t waste time on any “solution”
Im in contact with them and they are giving me shit that “it looks like a scratch”….
They are trying to convince me that its a scratch and are refusing to replace it… This is absurd.
Say to them that there is a very slight flex and show them then and there. That should qualify for the replacement.
