Thank You 🙂 I used Lumetri pannel in premiere pro
Are you recording in log profile?
And if so, then How?
Any way to do this on device? I am currently using InShot for post processing, which does an ok job, but was wondering, if there was something more powerful?
I actually don’t remember if it was in LOG color profile but you can definitely do it using FiLMiC pro app. It has multiple dynamic LOG and flat profiles which would increase the dynamic range of your video.
Well, always look for the highlights, shadows and the midtones, as they defines the (color) contrast of your photos/videos. In inshot they have recently added the HSL which will be very beneficial in color grading. I have heard about VN video editor but never used it before, you should give it a try!
Thanks a lot
BTW have a look to [this video](https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/comments/ltoiwn/shot_on_redmi_k20_pro_using_filmic_pro_app_in_4k/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share). It was shot in dynamic LOG profile.
That’s really good. So you use FiLMic Pro for capturing videos?
Color grading makes ALL the difference in how the final picture looks. I recorded some stuff in Nepal on Holi back in 2018 on the Mi Note 3 and the difference in graded vs ungraded footage is night and day.
Takes your phone footage and makes it look professional.
Yes sometimes
Yes it does but you have to be very careful about the birate, dynamic rate, Noise levels of your video vs how are you going to color grade. Sometimes color grading can make your video worse if you have no idea about the color wheel.
Yeah, as with everything, one should aim to know what you’re doing before you do it. Most failures come from people not knowing what they were doing before they did it.
Yeah, its kind of a Premiere Pro mini in your pocket.
im a newbie, does it mean the last part of original without color grading?
Yes, it was directly out of the camera
Actually flat profiles have much lower contrast than this and I think that MIUI camera produces more vibrant videos under proper sunlight. Actually the sky was full of clouds that day(you can’t see as I’ve blown off the highlights) and all the videos shot on that day had similar contrast and saturation.
Btw, on few Xiaomi smartphones you actually got manual video mode and LOG color profile in MIUI camera. So, it’s possible to do with MIUI camera but this video wasn’t in log/flat.
