After the flood of posts after whole fiasco with bricked phones, the forums are now flooded with spam.
Although I’m able to use the Chinese MIUI forum, it is not really that useful for global rom users.
I’m not sure if this is normal behaviour for a Chinese company trying to go global, but communication is really not their strong suite.
>the forums are now flooded with spam
It’s been like this ever since they introduced medals I. E. Since the beginning, but no offense, when Xiaomi expanded to India everything went to shit, most posts are just spam or lazy copy-paste from Google translated blog websites
You know what else is ruining the forums?
***Thanks***
Exactly the same as official Meizu forums, down to the medals, inept mods, poorly written and translated posts and replies. A mess.
The forum is bad, but it’s 350 billion Hong Kong Dollar which is nowhere near 350 billion USD!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I’d rather have no forum than the utterly bad forum they have now..
It’s rare and very rare times when you can find something useful there. Otherwise, it’s a frustrating experience to visit the forums. Plus, they fuck up the search results with questions but no answers.
OnePlus, Google are the only two I can think of
That’s still impressive.
The MIUI forum is a joke and was designed for spamming. A few years back, you’ll need to post in order to view/download an attachment. A thread with 80+ pages full of spam with 0 useful information are all over the place without any kind of moderation. It was frustrating to find useful information if there is any at all.
Thanks
Sir VoLTE work? Thanks
And [Samsung](https://us.community.samsung.com/). And [LG](https://lgcommunity.us.com/). And [Apple](https://discussions.apple.com/welcome). And [Huawei](http://support.huawei.com/community/?l=en). [Lenovo](https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/English-Community/ct-p/Community-EN), [ZTE](https://community.zteusa.com/), [Alcatel](http://forum.alcatelonetouch.com/) are all there too.
These aren’t cherry picked, these are literally just the first phone makers I thought of. It’s way harder to find a tech company that *doesn’t* have their own forums. It’s free outsourced customer service.
yeah i scroll through comments and all i see is
thanks, wow, cool, awesome, great, gorgeous, ‘other generic diplomatic short answer’
and a huge blank white space with the left hand side full of virtual medals and zero information.
in a place like reddit i mostly solve 90% of issues just by reading comments.
Did someone actually ask that?!!
Which company has good forums though? Microsoft guarantees someone with some kind of title will answer your question in a way that shows they skipped every other word. Apple forums just tell you you’re doing it wrong. Never seen a Samsung forum.
I thought the whole reason we use Reddit and xda is because official forums always suck.
‘Official’ forums doesn’t mean that any Xiaomi employees actively post there. The level of support can be quite bad with spammy nonsense answers or bad advice.
In contrast, I had a Lenovo engineer follow up on an issue which I had and wanted some log files.

and less day by day!!
\- a concerned shareholder
Thanks OP!
Most companies do have official forums.
Have you ever seen the Asus mobile phone forums?
Forum medals/achievements, spammy posts (e.g. requiring a reply to unlock content) and all sorts of gamifications have always been present in Asian forum culture since the 2000s, and will likely continue to persist unless Xiaomi themself decides to dump their existing forum software along with all of their forum users already used to this culture.

Medal 4
Thanks
they had a lot of different kind of moderator, with a lot of badge
i saw a comment about how this guy is disappointed that his mi a2 doesn’t have miui. i mean no shit genius why tf did you bought it in the first place anyway.
385 Bln ? Where is that from. It’s 50bln right now
Thanks u
Never got anything useful out of this big pile of.. (reply to read my valuable content)
5 credits needed for next achievement, but only with daily sign in.
I posted about this already but I’ll post it again because fuck them. One day, not sure why, I felt like I’d try to up the quality of the forum a bit by posting an in depth review of two cases for my old Redmi Note 4. I wrote a review (in one thread) for both, along side pictures. I made sure everything was typed correctly and that the presentation was good. Little problem, I didn’t know about the rule stating no link to buy stuff. See, I put both AliExpress links even stating I was not affiliated. The whole thread was taken down, no warning, no PM. I asked the mod why couldn’t he just remove the links or PM me, just incompetent. Refused to put the thread back up. Ugh..
I don’t know what support forums were you using before, but they are better and more informative than Apple forums , IMHO. That’s just from 1 month of using it.
Yeah, this “post to access attachments” is stupid.
Most do
I never look at anything Xiaomi on the internet because there’s indians everywhere and I find them annoying with the broken english and everything else.
This subreddit is sort of a safe haven.
Yeah, never looked anywhere else beyond this sub.
yes /s
you bought shares at IPO? lol
The bosses want to see engagement metrics!
I know – it’s stupid
It’s so weird.
Like they encourage it.
Is that just how things roll in China? I seem to remember once I had to spam something in a thread just to be able to access a download.
They quality of posts and responses, how things are stickied and organised is all just terrible. It’s astonishing.
That’s because you need to respond to see links. What else would you say if you have nothing to say right? I wish MIUI forum is a lot more useful, like XDA for Xiaomi phones.
no… not at IPO
Lol. I’m betting at least 60% of the people here are also indian.
Well the bad thing is that such MIUI-behaviour is invading xda. High quality in the past, now it’s mostly useless spam with repeating, duplicate and annoying postings.
Asus too
The worst part is that the population that makes the MIUI forums so bad is making their way to XDA.

385 billion renminbi actually
Yes sir volte is working epic 😎
Yes!
Thanks!
Unless you were being sarcastic, ‘this’ also ranks as a pretty unhelpful comment. The up vote button exists for a reason.
Yup, the project Treble forums are absolutely terrible right now. God knows how many posts I’ve seen with Indian spammers quoting the entire OP while asking about VoLTE
They all suck, but oh well, if people actually have the patience to spend their spare time and deal with idiots for free, power to them…
Sir does volte work thanks
