I also switched from the A5 2015 but to the RN4.
I love it and bet the RN5 is even nicer. Although, I had to put LineageOS on mine because the stock ROM just got worse and worse.
It’s a shame that the camera bump is so gigantic because i really dont like putting my phone into a shitty silicon case

I use redmi note 5. Performance is good.
It’s only called the Redmi Note 5 Pro in India. It’s the Redmi Note 5 everywhere else.
Well, at first I liked it but with every update it got worse. I think what really bugged me was when they removed the theme engine for my country and when they updated MIUI so that it always suggested the native MIUI Browser first and not the Browser App that was used the last time like normal Android does.

It’s not like you’d need the bump either. The phone’s large and thick enough to fit the large battery and the camera without a bump.

This isn’t a competition. I have seen the MiA2, and I realize that the phone is pregnant, but that doesn’t mean that the camera bump on the RN5P is small in any sense.
They do like it when all phones look like iPhones. No other explanation why the chinese vendors get away with blatantly forged design.

(To be fair, my device is twice as fast as the original Samsung Galaxy A5, the equivalent of the Brand-Which-Must-Not-Be-Named was deprecated a year ago)

He’s pretty tech savvy for an almost 60 years old man, what pisses me a little about miui is also the aggressive battery management

Also if a phone is too thin I just can’t hold it. My hands are too big. Every phone I get I’ll go through a few cases to find a thickness and bevel edge I can grip comfortably.

I got the 2 year warranty I think it was a good deal. The charger thing they do is a scam though.

But then your phone will get scratched, why not use a silicon case?
Because silicon cases get yellowish and they make my phone look like junk. They also collect a ton of dust. I understand that I need the case, and I do use a case but I would much rather not.
clean them? its such a nit-picking thing. phones do look better without cases, however you rather put one and not watch your phone get destroyed when you drop it.
