So, last friday was the last MIUI 10 for all the CHINESE BETA ROMs (plus [XIAOMI.EU](https://XIAOMI.EU))
So, my question is, what are your expectations for MIUI 11?
My mini list of what i rly want to see in MIUI11
* Better camera software for ALL models
* New UI or enable to use STOCK THEME on THEME APP
* New ANDROID version for “old” models
* Better battery usage
* Better RAM usage
Notifications and ram management are the ones that require a lot of optimization
Google Feed on the left of the Home, and Drawer
Mode Android like !
No more enabling notification one by one
Home screen rotation, like on stock android
Oh god, this.
Api2 enabled by default on mid range phones.
The auto rotate thing that pie has
Auto rotate can be control by the launcher guy’s. I use Smart Launcher Pro which foes a lot. It will take a couple of days to sift through all of its Capabilities. Just switch your launcher get some of the requests now, including Google feed.
I am using Xiaomi.EU and the latest offering already offers quite a bit from Miui 11 such as system wide dark mode, extreme battery mode, and this feature is truly groundbreaking! Next the updated themes from the alpha theme store already shows that the look will be closer to OneUI .
I would like to see better ring tones and notifications that stay on whatever I change it to. If want to hear a dog barking as my alarm I want it to stay on a dog barking until I switch it to something else.
Next I see would like to see brightness better calibrated and I would love to have Dolby integrated into the OS.
The RAM usage is already far better in the Q beta, IIRC they can’t modify the stock memory management as of Q
I am unabashedly a MIUI fan boy so while I support stock options the only things I want are:
1: Ability to hide stock MIUI apps on launcher, and disable auto-adding new apps to the home screen
2: Better notification handling
YES PLEASE
Yessss
👌
In Q they must use stock ram management, no modifications are allowed. Made it mandatory by google.
Phones launching with pie will have cam2api enabled by default as it is mandatory by default. Older phones are having less chance for that because they want people to buy new phones.
No more tinkering notification individually for apps.
A decent wallpaper picker
I expect that it will change nothing at all
I believe they already added the drawer in the beta
Anyone else notice that MIUI is the only one that is going to 11?
Spinal tap would be proud.
A full backup solution like on itunes!!!
I am looking forward to smooth like creamy butter animations, new font, more flexible ways to create themes, much better notifications and new controll panel.
Wanna see the ” 3D touch” for notifications and the app drawer coming into the system launcher and much smoother animations overall. Fingers crossed that the revamped icons will be nice to look at as well haha.
Honestly, I just don’t want them to ruin the design of the OS, like they did with MIUI 10
Make the phone app more like a stock one.
Display favorites/most contacted first
Just notification. Fix this will make me very happy
i need this
Yes, please! I thought this version of Android had AI to learn my brightness preferences. MIUI just always sets it all the way down.
Please… To be able to search for apps by name!!!
Good news for those who’ll get q. Not me though..
Haha.. This one is one better..
Better support for dark mode? Reading black text over black background it’s not the best for a UI
This might create a bigger divide between Global and CN roms (& [xiaomi.eu](https://xiaomi.eu)) then as CN doesn’t use play services meaning they are only using the open source part of android aka modify to your hearts content.
yes, i had an Xperia Z2 which is 5 yo now. I never realized how it used to adjust brightness. If you take your phone out of you pocket, and open the screen, it was already at the highest brightness. But in Xiaomi phones, there is a huge delay. Also, you can see the transition of brightness adjustments so easily unlike other phones
Sorry but this is waaaay too much to ask.
Better camera for *ALL* models – hey there, no. No. This doesn’t happen in a snap. If they knew what bogs down their cameras, they’d have fixed it already.
Option to enable stock theme – that’s insane. And I suppose you’re not talking just icons and wallpapers, I suppose you want an option to like ‘opt-out’ of MIUI. That feature alone is gonna be so heavy, it’s like changing the entire UI part of the ROM dynamically. And on top of that – why would they wanna do that? A lot of people are OK with MIUI and those who aren’t – well, your can just flash the Pixel ROM (apparently on the shitty Huawei phones you can’t anymore).
The “new Android version for old models” thing – not something that can be described as a feature, thus it doesn’t depend on MIUI 11.
“Better battery usage” – I think you can’t go better than MIUI. I’m always getting the most of my battery on MIUI. If you don’t, maybe your problem is related to the actual battery hardware, rather than your software.
“Better RAM usage” – you can’t really have both. Because of the perfect battery, sometimes apps get killed to not eat CPU usage which kills the battery faster. Tho it’s gotten so good, it may close the app but the background services are flawless, so you don’t really feel it. I think MIUI has the perfect balance between battery and RAM optimization as is.
I hope there are fewer bugs …
That’s actually possible. But i don’t think they will change the ram management in different regions. Even though many google services are banned, playstore etc works if they need with free apps. No paid apps will be shown. They have the option to download play services and install playstore. Most probably they will use the same settings on both china and global. If they keep them separate, hope Xiaomi.eu developers will do something to make it like stock management.
What do you mean?
Dark mode also enabled on apps which don’t have a dark mode option like WhatsApp
I just hope they add more modes in the camera app like light trails and silky water in Huawei phones
Ohh free apps work? I thought the play store in the xiaomi app market was a user submitted workaround.
Xiaomi.eu would most likely keep what CN rom had as that’s the base. Honestly I never had problems with miui memory management. I mean sure it seems a bit odd 6gb ram and still 5 apps only in memory but seems the same on all phones these days?
Tbh i missed their auto brightness. I used lineage OS and theirs is dumber. If I’m playing games in landscape they’ll think the area is dark and will lower brightness. In MIUI they don’t dim it
I think they are bringing a feature similar to 3D touch I saw a screenshot a while back.
MIBoy
the mi 9 brightness fix magisk module from XDA fixes it, if you’re willing to install magisk
For me the only one thing is LESS BUGS!
All I want is to see my freaking notifications on the notification bar. On the Mi 9 they just disappear until you swipe the notification tray down. Pretty sure the beta fixed it, but the stable better have it too
All stock features that have been missing in MIUI for years!
Like expandable notifications on lock screen.
That’s awesome!
* Better auto brightness
* Fixed notifications
* Fixed app badges, not clearing them when you clear notifications
* Better dark mode
* Better stock camera
* Widgets not being 5×1 when they could be 1×1
* Double tap to sleep
* A toggle to disable [“Sunlight Display”](https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/comments/cuest5/display_contrast_is_changing_in_bright/) because I’m about to go crazy because the contrast or saturation or whatever is getting boosted whenever I’m outside (yes my contrast is set to standard already and auto brightness is off and reading mode is off)
* Being able to mute the camera shutter sound in some apps like Instagram?? Like wtf, my phone is on silent and I try to take a picture and the shutter sound is literally on MAX volume?!?! No my country does not have a law where the camera shutter has to be enabled all the time
* THE MOST IMPORTANT THING, XIAOMI PLEASE…………… give us better microphone quality, the hardware is there, just fix the software………..
it work on other models ?
> So, my question is, what are your expectations for MIUI 11?
My main expectation is not getting it on my Mi Max 3.
That the phone stops micro-freezing and crashing every day, especially while accessing Google Play or similar things. It makes gaming a horrible experience.
That the delayed notifications because of the Heartbeat Interval is fixed. Sometimes notification are delayed for three hours or more for whatever reason.
I can’t stand MIUI but I’m too lazy to change the system. Or I rather ran into problems when I tried to and didn’t want to brick my phone.
I saw one for Mi Mix 2 too, as for other ones, you’d have to check out XDA. Here’s the link to the one for the mi 9:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/Mi-9/themes/magisk-miui-auto-brightness-fix-mi-9-t3924026/
The ability to set any live wallpaper on the lockscreen
Google feed is awful. Why would you want that?
Snapchat lags for some reason. Before it was working fine. Hope this update would fix it.
Happy Cake DAy MiBro!
Wow, LG had this ages ago. Not aure about the new models.
You already have app drawer on BETA Versions 🙂
Sorry for dont understand, até first, your point ahah
:D, 3 years
When will it be coming tho?
ALL notifications on the Always On Display.
I wish they would manage to pull off the smooth zoom – begin on normal lens, smoothly switch to 2x lens, after that do the digital zoom. Also – stop f’n killing my apps in the background, Xiaomi! Mi9 has 6GB RAM!
1~UI change
2~More optimization
3 ~less bugs

Prefer it instead MIUI dock
Per application audio control!
For example: turn audio to 100% on Spotify
I then load up Facebook and a video auto plays at 100% too.. I want Facebook to stay at what I last set it to
Well, that’s very nice.
Hope that they fix the notifications icons on the status bar. Ambient display turning on for notifications or when lifting phone
Some models have a huge battery drain, take god, you arent one of them
The option to disable to back gesture on the left hand side of the screen so it doesn’t interger with apps
fix the notifications on my mi9 there are no little icons on taskbar please fix that it feels very empty
It’s useful sometimes but I don’t find myself using it. Annoying to press it every time you want to change screen orientation. Might as well use the auto.
How do I upgrade, btw? My xiaomi.eu check says “You are up to date or there is a server issue”, and I am not up to date. Do I have to always update manually?
My expectation is being able to choose beteeen media volume and message volume individually
I want music notifications to be like stock android. I would Like the album artwork or colour to appear on the notification control. Not just a white music control
1) True system wide dark mode
2) Adaptive Brightness
3) Make PocoLauncher the default for ui11
By default all notification are disabled unless you manually enable them one by one
Only thing I miss from my s9+
Auto brightness that actualy works, AOD notifications for all apps, notifications on the notification bar that don’t go away after few seconds, on phones with notch (mi 9 here)
Improved EIS on Mi9!
Round icons,
Install this in the meantime

Eh? My phone has MIUI 10 and by default all notifications are enabled.
They mean the notifications and reminders by third-party applications. And they mean whitelisted, not enabled.
Sure, notifications do appear “enabled” for those apps, but the MIUI keeps killing them in the background so they never get to show those notifications *reliably*.
There are all kinds of workarounds such as excluding apps from battery saving and allowing them to auto start explicitly, but none of those are a surefire solution. MIUI is beautiful and powerful, but if you rely on third party notifications, it is downright *unusable*.
Am I the only one who wait for the desktop mode?
I don’t get it, can you give an example? I mean my whatsapp is notifying me messages just fine.
I disabled every 3rd party app autostart, disabled developer option but leave miui optimization appear as on even though its greyed out, and leave app permission, notification, etc at default state.
Working notifications, better ram usage, thats it.
Hopefully an app drawer
Except on the 9SE (at least not full lv.3)
Depends on the app, I guess. I too don’t remember having trouble with Whatsapp, but for the life of me, I could not get this one to work reliably on MIUI: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.isoron.uhabits
Most of the time the reminders didn’t even work. Sometimes the notifications showed up *but* got lost when I closed the drawer. It was a painful experience, all around.
Yesterday I flashed a custom ROM and now everything works smoothly, without *any* additional tinkering or workarounds.
I think a rotate button pops up when you could rotate or something, but Google is your best friend 🙂
I’d like to be able to go even darker. In my porn preferences and screen luminosity.
Just give us plain AOSP notification behaviour, thank you.
Colored music notifications and album art as background? Pretty pleeeease? It’s available since Oreo.
But that’s not in xiaomi’s power.
What is the app to hide annoying banner notifications called? What I click on it I get transferred to Xiaomi App Store, and it’s not appearing there
I know but there are some leaks about that
That’s subjective. I read my tech and sports articles from there. To each their own.
I want to choose a fucking accent color, that’s what i ask for!
An ultra power saving mode that actually works especially when it comes to reducing cpu speed
> album art as background? Pretty pleeeease? It’s available since Oreo.
THIS!!!!!
When will we approximately see the update on the Mi 9t? How has it been in the past regarding updates? First time with a Xiaomi device.
this last, mic quality, yes, ffs
Infinite volume increments….
Or at least give us a 100-increment volume…. It’s not that hard since we already have a slider. Keep the buttons on stock increments but I wanna be able to fine time the volume of my music …
I dont think ive had a phone that did that, but ive wanted it for a very long time, makes absolutely no sense.
Most launchers let you change the name of the app
What
I don’t know if miui 11 will be based on Android 10. Android 10 must add desktop mode, so you could plug your phone to a screen and a keyboard and have a desktop experience.
I’m wondering if it will be available for all phones or only flagships
which banner. post screenshot.

Edit: [Here is the banner](https://i.imgur.com/kjduYDt.png)
Yeah I have that enabled, the icon shows up for a second when a notification comes in, then disappears
No idea. I don’t have that..
