Using it more than 6 months and i’m fully satisfied with the outcome. Don’t forget using the mobile app to map your home, this will let you to clean wherever/whenever you want.
What happens If you have a carpet on the middle of the room?
It’s both a vacuum with a mop attachment at the rear..
What do you think about the mop? In my experience using a regular mop I have to clean it regularly otherwise I will start rubbing dirt all over instead of cleaning. Just curious how a robot mop deals with that.
I wonder how good of a job it does cleaning the corners in a room… does it go under furniture as well?
Ours has been good apart a problem with side brushes not working, the seller partial refunded. I took it apart a few times to clean contacts, it was intermittent. In the end bought a new geared motor cheaply and its been fine since. Its quite easy to do, it sits on spring contacts.
It climbs on it just fine. Light rags give it trouble sometimes so I just lift them out of the way before I start it.
OP please answer this
I have the newer version of this robot (Xiaomi Vacuum 2) and indeed the mop has to be cleaned or changed regularly.
What I ended up doing is buying some spare ones (they are very cheap) and I change the mop every day.
I clean the used ones manually to take out most of the dirt, I put them in the dirty clothes basket, and they go to the washing machine with the laundry.
Is it move all your furniture before do the cleaning?
I’ve this for 6 months. I choose not to use mop feature since it’s not practical as vacuum (need to change towel and refill the tank regularly). I use vacuum daily and I mop house myself at weekends.
Vacuum works perfectly with carpets, but if you want to use mop you need to put exception for carpet area (otherwise it tries to mop carpet too)
So far I have only problem with the water pump not starting after you already used mop option. So I have to turn off robot and turn it on again in order to get pump working.
It can’t go over the black carpet, or black area on some carpet because of the cliff sensors, but I put ducktape over it – so it doesn’t know about that thing anymore.
I remember some problems time ago about Xiaomi acquiring user informations like the house planimetry and stuff like that. Is this still happening?
I’m not even sure it was xiaomi, but I remember that this made users angry and it was a long time ago
From that water tank remove dust filter and only then it will work in MOP only mode.
Depends, if you placed big objects or furniture recently (Xmas tree) near the charging dock he will not recognize the map. It happens to me in this period but I resolved by manually lifting it, placing it in the kitchen and starting from there. I should do a full scan so he can recognize everything again but I’m too lazy.
You can experience some bug where he cannot remember the map, and you can solve it by pausing the robot, force close app, enter again, tell him to dock and you will see your map popping out again
No, but before cleanups you have to remove small rags and cat bowls (those small ones) since it cannot detect them, they’re too light. But with carpets, shoes, bottles etc there isn’t any problem, it can detect them and avoid accordingly.
For me connecting doesnt work, it stops straight at sending message 🙁
Quick question – can you set the vacuum in one session to do Vacuum and mopping in one part of the house (kitchen and hallway) and only Vacuum in another part of the house (bedrooms wooden floor)? Or do I manually need to start both separately ?
Can I schedule these in a way that it’s automatic though ? For example can I set an automated 2 am vacuuming only of bedrooms and 4 am vacuum plus mopping of kitchen and hallway? Or can I only schedule One event a day?
