Hi,
I have a short question und would like to hear your experiences. I have a Xiaomi 15 Ultra since about 2 weeks and for now I am absolutely loving it. I came from an iPhone 15 pro and I feel like this phone is better in every aspect, even though this might be a personal opinion.
For me, I also don’t have issues with the battery. I feel like I never had a battery this strong. When I am using the phone 1 hour with the stuff I usually do (e.g. YouTube or music) it usually consumes like 3 or 4 percent battery, maximum 5 percent. So I can easily make it through the day, even with heavy usage. However, the camera cost like 1 percent every 1-2 minutes. Is it the same for you? That would be the only negative point I would have so far and even that should not be a problem in most of the time, because I won’t keep the camera open that much time a day. But it would be nice to hear if you made similar experiences and if it is somehow possible to maybe reduce the battery drain for that use case?

Yeah pretty common complaint and same on my X15 u which I have had since launch day. Running camera eats battery and runs hot
Drains faster taking pictures than doom scrolling on reddit. Hence the battery in the photography kit? The 1″ sensor and additional processing requires more power i guess.
Right now I am using it without the kit.
I thought the same. Maybe it just needs that much power to read the data from the sensor. For comparison: I have now about 4 hours since I stopped charging and am now on 93%. Not sure how much screen time. Maybe about an hour. But that’s like regular usage. So after a day I have 50-75 percent left, so I think it’s really fine. Even with photographing it should be fine, unless I take pictures the whole day 😅
But in vacations I always go with Powerbank, so that should be also fine.
In my opinion it would be perfect if that was optimized also. Perfect phone in my opinion then. But even so, it outlasts my previous iPhone easily.
I totally agree with your impression. I’ve had it for two weeks now and I’ve been using it as a camera during my five-month trip in Asia. On days when I take a lot of photos, I clearly notice the battery draining quickly, even though it performs really well otherwise. It doesn’t bother me too much ; let’s just say it’s the price to pay for having such a great camera.
i noticed hp9 sensor takes a lot of battery, but also gallery is pretty big offender.
so I restricted backgroumd battery use for gallery and camera. now it’s little better.
you can also rty gcam to see it if that consumes less.
That is the sensor of the 4.3x Tele? I’ll try to restrict it also, let’s see what it will change
yes. 4.3. very hungry
If you’re not happy with the battery life during Camera use…you could perhaps buy the 6000mah battery in the CN model and swap it into the Global model…it’s literally the same connection plug etc
Thanks, that isn’t good to know!
How does your sip so little power in normal use? What sort of settings have you made? I get about 1 hour for 10% now on wifi. Previously it was better but no idea why it has gone backwards.
Yup, yesterday was my nephew’s birthday. So I went out for celebrate and after taking about 40-50 photos in a short time period the phone got hot and drained from 73 to 69%. This was in a span of Maybe 5 minutes.
I am just using for social Media, music or web browsing. I set the refresh rate to standard so that it adjusts on need and highest resolution. I put the energy saving and the rest was set automatically. The first 4-6 days it used much more but now it nearly consumes nothing. That’s why I can easily recognize, that the camera drains the battery so much.
After 9.5 hours: 27% down to 73%, so it was about 3% battery per hour. I did not use it the whole time. But I also used the camera. That already hit a few percents. I think the statistics might be not 100% right because it shows only low consumption by camera right now.
Has anyone tried this? Xiaomi could prohibit such battery swaps with a software roadblock so don’t recommend that people do this until it’s confirmed to work.
Xiaomi has absolutely nothing to gain by doing a software block like that.
All the EU does is require Xiaomi to manufacture a phone with a certain battery density. What a customer chooses to do with their Xiaomi phone after they buy it has nothing to do with the EU or Xiaomi?
Yeah I know that, but you should try it on your own 15U and make sure it works before telling others to do it.
Yeah I will be doing it on mine in the not so distant future. Just making others aware of the idea in case they’d like to 👌🏾
Let us know how it goes.
Xiaomi 14 absolutely camera consumes lot of battery especially taking videos. Social media apps also consume battery apart from camera.
Lucky, my 15 ultras battery only lasts 5 hours
Are you gaming with it? Or massively using the camera?
Who tf buys a phone for gaming 💀, no for both
I don’t know, but I see many people doing that😅 I think the last 10 years I never had a game on the phone
Thanks, yeah my usage is similar. No gaming as well. Do you mean you use battery saver mode and default refresh rate? I am using balanced mode and default refresh rate.
