* Well, yesterday was my last day in Barcelona with some friends, and i decided to go to the Mi Store. I have to repeat this, Mi Stores, look like Apple Stores, the difference it’s the products they are selling.
* The store it’s really great, last smartphones and gadgets, but the negative part is, why XIAOMI show Mi TV when they are only available in Chinese Language?
* Other thing, Mi Scooter’s are the nº1 product in sales! When i walked around the city, i notice that a lot people with owning this product.
Dam that shopping centre looks so grand and luxurious.
Well, the decor of the shopping its really strange. All gold and with some ancient rome lines…
Can’t agree more, and i’m waiting to see them open one on Porto, Portugal 😀
Does look good but if there wasn’t a Mi logo visible and the Redmi ad etc, just from the looks that could be an Apple store. It’s a shameless ripoff. I wonder why all these designers (and at the end, customers too) don’t want to design and see something different.
I see Xiaomi as one of the best Chinese phone companies with huge potential in the west, so imo they should set themselves apart from the other “let’s just copy apples stuff” competitors.
Hopefully the London Store in Westfield Shopping Centre will be similar 🙂
Looks similar in decor to the [Trafford Center](https://imgur.com/a/msnDaCa) in the UK

I stopped by when I was in Barcelona also. I impulse bought some things obviously, I still haven’t open the Mi power bank and its been like 6 months since I bought it.
Can’t believe there is still no store in Germany
If they paid for design, you’d pay for design.
I would.
Did they have the pocophone in stock to buy there and then? Thanks
Looks exactly like the Mi stores here in China

Gran vía 2, but it’s not really one of the most luxurious malls in Barcelona
As far as my judgement goes, I think they are opening first in the poorer countries of Europe because they will most likely be looking for a good deal (and not the 1000€ flagships) as opposed to in Germany. In my country (Croatia) people are massively buying Xiaomi through third party online resellers because it isn’t worth it to have a 60€ monthly contract for a 1000€ flagship when the average pay is 700€.
Stop the spanish inquisition. Barcelona is not Spain.
Did you take pictures of prices? That is what would be really interesting
I have some, let me upload it 😉
yes, they have.

Thanks, might fly out to grab it 😀
Soooo not really? Haha
prices are same as in online shop https://www.mi.com/es/index.html
That is not China exclusive… Just look to near all the competitors, except Samsung and Sony. All of them goes with notch. That is ridiculous.
Oh thanks
🙂
There’s a few more in Madrid hahaha curious style
I agree with that observation, people in comparably poorer countries will buy more xiaomi products (in terms of market share in %) than in richer countries. But, Germany is a MASSIVE market compared to nearly every other European country, so even if they would only have 5% market share (and I think they can definitely achieve more in a short time period, Germans love good deals), it would already be huge for xiaomi. I just hope that they are quietly setting up the infrastructure to destroy the competition on every aspect here, because imo it is needed. I use a 2.5 year old Chinese phone (no xiaomi but comparable to the mi5), which I bought for 240€ back then, and it still beats nearly everything at that price point when I look at the local electronic store.
well, low markup and huge wholesale supply is not bad though! positive cashflow is positive cashflow.
That is true, it is a huge market, but looking around you probably wont spot anything other than flagships unless you meet an enthusiast. As opposed to in poorer countries where somebody’s grandma has a Xiaomi (or those crappy Doogee or Meizu). Heck, my dad even bought one and now he recommended it to his work colleagues.
They probably will expand to bigger markets when they get a significant share in the smaller, poorer ones.
Last year the expected countries where a store will open up were: Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Greece.
