And battery life decreased.
Got anything in particular or just spewing shit out of your ass? I have been overclocking LCD displays when playing FPS games on PC for years and zero issues. I have been using 60->75hz overclock on my Mi 9 for almost 2 full years and zero issues.
If you end your day with 5% left on a battery then this will kill your experience but else it just enhances it.
and to be fair haven’t heard people having issues long term neither. It will be quite upsetting to soon update to Android 11 and lose this ability on my phone. 🙁
Ok but why?
next post: why are there lines on my screen
Overclocking display on phones is different I know multiple people who have damaged Redmi Note 4, Redmi Note 5 and Poco F1 displays from overclocking
editing kernel dts
Your points sound ridiculously. Also, LCD displays uses different technologies among different size devices? My old desktop displays are rated 60hz but handled hundreds of hours on 80Hz and going strong. Mi 9 has AMOLED but still it’s rated just 60hz but people kept 84hz for years without issues while my FPS wasn’t stable so I kept 75hz since very yearly in Mi 9 cycle. Samsung overkilled it or thousands of users are breaking laws?
> The screen isn’t made to handle OC
Yet it handles. Engineers usually attempt to over-engineering things but don’t push it on release.
> More charge cycles because of increased battery drain.
Turn off GPS and you will save some cycles. Delete FB and similar always active apps to reduce wear even more! Don’t use animated displays, don’t game GPU intensive games and you will reduce recharge cycles. Like people care about those.
> More heat because of OC
Yeah it keeps me warm during winters.
Sorry but these points are pathetic and only legit one is 1 but not in my instances.
Simply not worth it.
By installing sketchy kernels? Well at least with older devices it’s very basic task to repair display. Sorry haven’t found anything on these devices overlocking and I understand that Redmi 7 is on par with these devices and not my mentioned.
any display overclock kernel has a chance of toasting the display. sure you can replace it but good luck finding an original one

too lazy to find a poco one rn
I’ve a 10t pro. With 144hz display. At 90% screen brightness I get between 10 and 12 hours a day on screen time. Higher refresh isn’t that impactful.
Yeah that display is made for 144hz and its not overclocked. And about the battery life your phone uses adaptive refresh rate. It’s not always on 144hz.
Yeah but it never goes below 60hz. So on average it will always be higher than 70! I’d call 8 hours on screen time amazing. So 3/4 of the 10t would be good at 70hz
Is it on miui rom or any other rom if so which rom ?
Which version is it 4gb or 6gb
Do u feel any difference practically ?
*16.6%
Not sure about mi 10t but mi 10t pro can go down to 30-45 hz.
Also note that mi 10t is ~2 years newer than note 7 so the display technology is more efficient.
(X) Doubt
is ui running 60 or 70fps?
I’d just stick with 60 to save battery
It goes down to 30Hz mate.
I pressed X.
God the redmi note7 and 7 pro are so good looking. I have the 9 and i dont get thy they didnt do a black version.
Yeh i have a oneplus 8t and at full brightness it easily lasts 11-13hrs at 120hz
and your screen
looking good on my 60fps monitor
“Why” and “how” are not the same.
That’s a different phone with the functionality built in and designed for. The RN7Pro was not built for that.
Yeh i know i was just comparing both of the brands “flagships” to eachother. I think both brands are absolutely amazing and that they share a lot in common. I really think both the oneplus and xiaomi subreddit should come closer to eachother. Just a disclaimer i do own both a oneplus and xiaomi 🙂
I see what you mean(but for a fair comparison,Xiaomi’s real flagship of at the time of the Redmi Note 7 Pro was the Mi 9,and Redmi’s was the K20 Pro). As for the second one, I’m not so sure, two completely different companies with two different ways of doing things. It would be like Vivo and Nokia coming together with their fanbases who most likely don’t care/bother/know about the other and would probably be confused.
Dont oneplus and xiaomi share a parent company or is that oneplus and oppo?
OnePlus and Oppo. Xiaomi’s parent company is Xiaomi.
That too
How do I know how many hertz I have these displayed on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro Global
