I recently bought a Xiaomi Mi 11 5G Global version from a local retailer here in the Philippines, with included 55w GaN charger.
I am in loved with this phone! This phone is totally crazy.
The display is the best feature for me. 120hz + 1440p HDR display is gorgeous. The touch feedback feels butter smooth and responsive. There is no “latency” lag on your touches and they are pin-point accurate, especially in gaming. I rarely have misspelled words while typing. I hate the curved edges, but the MIUI software did a good job at rejecting accidental side/palm touches.
The sound quality is the second best part. The stereo effect impressed me. Audio does not distort on full volume. Punchy bass and clear vocals.
Charging is insanely fast. I take a bath and the phone charges from 10% to 60%.
The phone gets warm while charging, but its not overheating. I just remove my case while charging to make the heat is disposed quickly.
The battery is just average for me. It could have been better for a 4600mah. I usually turn down the display to 1080p/60hz, when I am in running out of battery while on a trip.
6 hours SoT: 1440p/120hz browsing, watching Youtube and other light tasks
4 hours SoT : 1440p/120hz heavy gaming
7 hours SoT: 1080p/60hz light tasks and browsing
5 hours SoT: 1080p/60hz heavy gaming
For the performance, there are very rare instances of fps drop during switching apps/multi tasking. Not a big deal, sometimes you dont really notice it in daily use.
There are a lot of reviews claiming that this phone throttles quickly, due to bad thermal control.
I guess that’s because of software issue, because the phone just came out during their testing. My Mi 11 is updated to MIUI 12.0.3.0 global and I don’t have any experience in overheating.
Sure, it gets warm while playing heavy games, but its tolerable and I haven’t experienced throttling and fps drops. Genshin Impact is just a poorly optimized game.
I will flash custom roms on this phone when development gets strong. MIUI still needs more optimization and rework to maximize the SD888’s potential and capabilities as a flagship.
Edit: I forgot the camera.
Camera is really great. My only complain is the viewfinder isn’t smooth.
Edit 2: TLDR
Pros: Display, camera, performance, speakers, signal strength
Cons: Battery, curved edges, fingerprint could be improved.
Thank you! I will also buy Mi 11 thanks for the info.
Is your Chrome Browser eating so much battery too?
how about the camera? can u upload a few samples for the wide and ultra wide lens?
Nice! Enjoy your new device.
I bought my Poco F2 Pro at Mi Store SM Megamall last August 2020.
I have to stick with this device for 2 more years.
Would you give Mi 11 a score of 11/11 ?
What did you pay?
MI 10 has cost me only 430€
MI 11 is 799€ here but not twice as good as MI 10
I forgot to put my thoughts about the camera.
Camera is great. Decent sharpness and color. My only complain is the viewfinder is kinda laggy.
Mi 11 battery is just not that great, as all the reviews mention. If you use Chrome a lot, of course it will be a major cause of drain
A little tip for. When you don’t need your phone charged right now like you are charging during night, use charger with 75% of the wattage of the included change.
That way your battery will degrade slower
Too bad this phone has a curved display. I would’ve jumped on it if it has a flat display.
After using so many past curved display phones, so frustrating when there’s so much glare under outdoor use.
Curved and battery is the main problem here.
And they are more smashable.
I’m using a 10 pro, I’m officially jealous, especially about your screen!
Congrats man… ✌️👏
We’re still waiting for Mi11 to show up in our country
Lol I wish I’d use it as much as it uses battery. It sits on top of everything with like 30% total battery usage and 10min use time regularly. Clearing Cache / reinstalling doesn’t help.
It seems to be an Android 11 issue on general because there are reports from Pixel phones on this too
Mine is not that good as well. It’s the only thing about this phone that I don’t really like.
hello, i am happy owner of a mi 11 also, on the other hand i noticed a problem with amazon prime video which is not able to function in hd unlike netflix.
have you encountered the same problem? thank you
I havent tested it yet. Im not also a subscriber of amazon prime.
Shame about the curved edges.. also it’s a bit thin and long
I just bought mi 10 pro in September last year previously I owned mi 8 i think my next device will be the mi 12 or mi 13
Is understand where you are going with this and partially agree.
But let’s be honest that is not possible pretty much everything you touch is made in china in some shape or form.
Same mi 10 is much cheaper now. I got mine used for £280 though
I’m tempted to give up my s20 ultra for this phone Im waiting for the global version anyone got any idea when it will be launched in the uk
Already has.
I’m undecided if to buy this phone and the Galaxy S21.
I have Poco X3 miui global 12.0.8 is it okay to left it on charging over night? Will it over charge ? Will it effect my battery ?
It will affect your battery
Pretty much every new phone has overcharge protection so leaving it charge overnight isn’t a problem. Just if you want your battery to degrade slower charge with slower charger.
Ps: Just yesterday I bought Poco x3 too. Tomorrow it’s going to be delivered and I am really happy because for almost 2 year’s I have been using 90€ phone(Umidigi A5 Pro) so this is a big jump for me.
If Samsung and Apple aren’t OVERPRICED, hell yes I wouldn’t have to buy Chinese products.
You shoudn’t be using Chrome regardless of what brand of laptop/phone you use. It is a battery/ram hog.
How do you do that ??
