EDIT: Wow. Didn’t expect this to blow up. Thanks to everyone for all the comments and engaging in the discussion.
FYI i have had the phone since a day before this post and I’ve only charged it once. I’m at 36% battery now and my SOT is currently 6h 51m. Couldn’t be happier.
////
At how good the redmi note 9s is. My first Xiaomi device as well.
Got the 6gb ram model.
I’ve always since day one of using any phone had an expensive flagship. The device I moved over from was S10 plus exynos.
I’m just shocked at what I’m getting Vs what I paid. I paid chump change for this thing. And it’s killing it Vs my S10 plus.
All the problems I hated are gone. Games, especially cod mobile, are now running excellently.
I’ll never again use an exynos device. This snap 720g is just so much better. Even a technically on paper worse camera than on my old phone and it still produces better photos.
I don’t get it. How did they make it this good for so little money? Just shocked beyond belief. I love this thing.
It’s called ads.
Its because Xiaomi doesnt have Advertisments, so it keeps the cost low. They use consumers to preach their products. They will announce a phone on twitter and everybody tells everybody to buy them, because they saw how good it was.
i have redmi note 9s btw
There’s ads all over Samsung Pay, Samsung Health, Samsung Themes, etc. So yeah. Btw, I have an s10 plus so I know what I’m talking about.
Have the same phone (also my first Xiaomi phone), it’s really awesome!
samnang sucks. everybody knows that.
Yea me too. I changed from Samsung Galaxy S10 and the note 9s perform on par with it or even better in some aspect! The battery life is surely amazing.
Exynos is just plainly bad tho. I don’t get why Smasung would still use it over the Snapdragon one since they are vastly different in performance.
It’s cheap in my opinion aside from no adverts is because of the software.
MIUI is far worse quality than other manufacturer’s software.
and they put ads in the software to make some profit. It’s a fair tradeoff in my opinion
the qualcomm s10 plus is better but exynos is straight garbage
You totally can remove it with some tricks that easy found in google
Recommend installing miui EU
Not sure if it me but picture looks a lot better
No ads
No bloatware
Plus you get miui 12
Finally someone agrees with me, thanks!
I can’t wait to install a custom rom, but for now it’s not worth the hassle. I know it’s easy but currently I don’t want to take the risk of the phone breaking. I will definitely do that when i have enough money to buy another phone..
Thanks! Please give me the invite. It’s nice to have a peace of mind.
I’ve recently switched from a custom ROM back to MIUI and I’m loving the UI design, the animations and the smoothness of it. Mind sharing why do you believe MIUI is bad (aside from being bloated)?
Yeah Samsung’s Exynos chips are hot (literally) garbage. Unless you live in the States, I don’t think you can get a Snapdragon Samsung model that easily. I also switched from my Samsung to my Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro with a SD855 and it’s so buttery smooth.
How do you remove ads on note9s?
Agree, i am personally using HavocOS, works fine for me
They are more focused on selling techs than brand.
I went from Stylo 5 to the 9S. No fucking lag at all switching to apps. I didn’t realize it but I had like 8+ apps running in the background at once and I pressed the button to clear them, but the thing is there’s no need. I can run SEVERAL battery draining apps that slow my phone down normally and see no issues.
Literally my only issues are with the battery bar cause it doesn’t fill up and it’s slowly just getting lower and lower the longer I have the phone lol. Oh and the Google keyboard fucking sucks now that I’m actually using it on a bigger screen – need to find a decent ad free keyboard that is similar.
The phone itself is nothing to bitch about because it’s far superior to my old one. I’m gonna be testing it out tomorrow for doing doordash and when I do it’s gonna be interesting cause I have to take pics when I leave food at the door and on my old phone my camera took a few seconds to open and it would take like 5-10 seconds to hit send because the phone would lag, so I’m looking forward to using this phone for it.
The fact that Redmi Note 8 Pro is running better and faster for games than S20, you know somethings wrong…
Gotta unlock bootloader first. Look for guide on XDA developers. Backup all data before you do anything. One bootloader is unlocked, it’s a fairly straightforward process which is written down for you on the Xiaomi.eu website
S Series is trash and expensive but always keep in mind that the Samsung a series still has great value
It was my first doing it
You may have to wait a week to unlock
Don’t get scared
It actually really easy
Pretty much copy and paste
Here’s one link to get you started
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-9-pro/how-to/how-to-unlock-root-redmi-9-9s-9-pro-t4108913
You only have to do the first part. No need to root unless you really want to. I prefer not to so that my banking apps work without a hitch.
And here’s the link to EU ROM repository:
https://xiaomi.eu/community/forums/miui-rom-releases.103/
Not sure if your phone has MIUI 12 yet but MIUI 11 is Hella stable. Look it up.
Good luck!
It has a bad price/performance reputation value that’s only because of the bad s Series the a series offers great values
I’m not entirely sure, will look it up though. XDA and Xiaomi EU forums are your best bet to find the answer to that
It’s trash because of the price
Yeah exynos is kinda shit tbh, i had a used snapdragon gs9 before and after that i switched to a brand new exynos gs10, and it was kinda worse than the previous gs9, rn i have a huawei p40 tho its better in every aspect
You just go through xiaomi apps and their settings, and switch off “show reccomendations”, and no ads whatsoever.
Well I’m using both Samsung M30s & Note 7 Pro, no differences so far, I like one ui tho as it’s cleaner than miui
I agree. Especially the battery life. I can easily not charge it for 2 days. I had a samsung galaxy s7 and i can’t imagine not charging it at least twice a day. The camera is great during the day, but as soon as night falls or its cloudy and you’re e.g. trying to take a nice pic of your cats the quality is bad. Especially if they move at least a little. That’s the only aspect i think is better in flagships such as samsung. Otherwise this is not a big problem as you said, considering the price. The phone is unbelievably good for the price and i couldn’t reccomend it more.
Exynoses are terrible in general. My $200 mediatek phone easily outperforms a $1400 Samsung flagship on Exynos in real-world tests like playing games.
*Faster than s20

I don’t know about that. The EU Version is only 11.0.4.0 and I still have the Wifi problem. I don’t really get how their numbering system works but while the global Version of the Note 9s gets 11.0.10.0 the european version is still at 11.0.4.0 even though it has the newest Android security patch.

Edits: changed 10 to 11
Thanks a lot, i appreciate it
My usb port is dieing so I cant risk a flashing procedure. Every time I see miui 12 EU my hearth is broken 🙁
Another one that might help. The post is by the dev and comes under 9s/Pro/Max/ProEU thread
https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/guide-how-to-install-xiaomi-eu-rom-for-redmi-note-9-pro-eu.56014/
xiaomi earns only 5-10% of the total price, the rest is all component’s s price, they keep their smartphones at a low price so more peoples buy them
i got note 8 pro, there’s nothing better than that phone.
I got 9 pro yesterday and i’ve problem with wifi and Bluetooth. If i use both of them at the same time my wifi connection slows down. I know both of them uses 2.4ghz but i didnt have this problem even galaxy m20. Do you have any suggestions? (Except dont use Bluetooth or use wifi 5ghz)
(all of my family owns mi/redmi phones) my dad’s got the 9 pro (he had the redmi8) and he says it’s like a tablet, even if he has big hands it’s still a problem putting it in his pockets or things like that.
also the note8pro is the miui12 flagship device
Will that not break the new SafetyNet? I’ve used it previously on my old phone but still considering the pros and cons for this new phone since it might trip Google’s new SafetyNet detection method.
I changed from redmi note 4x to redmi note 8 pro and it’s so much better.
I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max and got the Redmi Note 9S for work.. sold it within a week and got myself a OnePlus 7T Pro instead. The Redmi had laggy UI and really bad camera software imo.. maybe I’m just too used to using top of the line devices..
Still using the OG Mi Mix. Love it!
MIUI is laggy, full of bugs and probably the worst ROM you can have. It has good hardware but shitty software. The best thing you can do is install a custom ROM to get rid of their shitty software.
You’re a little hyped up but the hype will be gone as soon as the worst ROM of all times MIUI starts to bug you. MIUI is filled with bugs, lags and all you can imagine. Full of bloatware you need to uninstall even if you know how to do that. Ads you need to manually disable. Not to mention all of the apps are Chinese apps and are spying on you and using your data. And your device will NOT have a long update support. You trade a shitty ROM for a good hardware is the way things are operated in Xiaomi headquarters.
Welcome aboard! Too bad this one has a hole in the display though… 😬
Glad to know it suits your taste! I’m a bit scared of notches and holes, I love my all-screen Mi 9T, looks clean!
Also on Pixel Experience Plus right now, I like it better than MIUI, less bloated, but some bugs here and there that are annoying so I might try MIUI 12 again soon (maybe the EU variant).
I got my Note 9s (4GB) yesterday which I bought last week for 109€ in the xiaomi Germany store due to a price mistake. But I force myself to not open it until my birthday next week, so excited!
Changing from Huawei P9 lite.
Well, that was the case before the Mi 10 series mostly, but it’s not literally true anymore.
The Redmi series still has a nice price/value though.
Nah I don’t think it’s safe, better wait for it or just stick to Global, it’s pretty similar anyway.
It’s also great for emulation if you’re into that.
not for some apps. for example the downloads app, there’s no “show reccomendations” toggle. But most apps can be disabled yes.
For me it just doesn’t feel smooth and updates are all over the place. It’s tolerable for sure though.
bcs it has the gpu from the samsung note 10 plus
I have to use an exynos S10+ 😭😭
I second this
I love my xiaomi note 9 pro as well and as far as I know it is cheap because it comes with small and subtle ads (ex. when installing an app there is a small ad at the bottom of the page), that’s how xiaomi offers their phones at a cheap price. That’s actually very smart.
LMAOOOO nice try xiaomi
720g? wait h- I can’t even have smooth frames on honkai impact with that
I have more than i will ever need in my note 8 pro. For the life of me i will never understand why people pay a premium for flagship phones. No games exist that could outstress my processor and no one should ever need more than 6gb ram and 128g storage. I am even being wasteful with my Spotify downloads and huge 360 VR videos and i am technically a power user needing 4k streaming from flying my drone and also VR and 3d scanning applications. So the average user shouldn’t even need a phone this good, which i got for 200$.
I am with you in being amazed at how they can fit so much into a device so cheap. But honestly i think people are being scammed by buying flagship phones. At least apple users are paying a premium for a different OS. But people paying a cool grand for samsung phones are absolute idiots.
Yet, China suppresses their uighur minority, and does loads of other horrible stuff like

Exynos is garbage sadly… it does the job. It works. But it’s slow.
That’s why I personally hunted for the S10+ Snapdragon. And this phone holds up so well… it’s shocking.
A galaxy m31 on my home and it’s working fine. No issue. Everything is smooth. Oneui is a better skin. And everything stays in RAM. 6gb performs like a 6gb.
Its got alot better in recent times and once you change the launcher its not too bad.
I wish they would just use the stock Google notification system though as its so much cleaner and more intuitive!
Have you experienced any battery drain on the rn9s?
Experienced any battery drain of the sort?
yeah when I first bought it but now i don’t have any problems at all
battery…then u will be more shock how long it can stay.
> Even a technically on paper worse camera than on my old phone and it still produces better photos.
You should then try gcam mods…
Probably a troll
Was shocked when I bought my first Xiaomi device last year as well, the Redmi Note 8 Pro. The phones are amazing.
The US kiilled several million Muslims over the last decade, go spread your propaganda somewhere else, this is a technology sub.
for around a month since i got it, nope.
yea, agreed on that. But i think they are not even close to Snapdragon level tho. even Mediatek chipset might be better than Exynos.
good device but they have to fix the raise to awake feature.
just warning you that note 9 pro has way better custom rom support since it has a snapdragon chipset
that happens to me too on the rn8pro, no clue why
It’s absolute trash if you live anywhere besides a few regions where the Snapdragon models sell. I’d rather get an iPhone instead.
I have a Redmi K30 with Chinese Rom, there are some issues with Google Map and Foodpanda and other location sharing apps. There is no global rom available. European verison will work for me ? I live in Asia.
I have yet to see any actually in the OS. They are in some of the bundled apps but you can just not use them. In fact you can uninstall them, more so than most other manufacturers I’ve used, you can _actually_ uninstall all that stuff.
The only place I see them is if I go into the Xiaomi “GetApps” app store. But Google Play has exactly the same. There’s no more in the Xiaomi one, in fact there might be more in Google Play.
The only place actually in the “ROM” is in the launcher, it has them in that swipe left area, the “Content Center”. Some of the stuff in there is definitely advertising. But I just turned that off and don’t use it.
This is on the Chinese ROM. Plenty of ads in bundled apps. But I don’t use them so I never see any ads. I can’t even go and look at them to check now as I uninstalled all that stuff the first week. Uninstalling didn’t require any special tricks, just selecting the app and “uninstall”. It just gave one more “are you sure, uninstalling system apps could cause unexpected behaviour” warning when uninstalling the system apps, it lets you uninstall all that stuff too without jumping through hoops.
I think this may depend on the ROM AND your physical location, I think I have heard for example that Indian users may see more ads than I do. Like I have heard they may have ads in the settings. I’ve never seen that.
I don’t use that app but going in I do see there is an ad there. I guess I see that as an “app” rather than an integral part of the OS.
I have an old Samsung here, looking at it, there is this “Galaxy Gift” app that is basically just a huge bundle of ads it seems, “Galaxy Apps” which certainly has ads. “Samsung Music” promotes Spotify. “Smart Things” I think has ads for the various things you can add to it. There’s also this “EZY Rewards” thing I hadn’t seen before that is an explosion of ads. Disabling that now.
So it has bundled apps which has ads, like every phone. But it doesn’t have ads in the actual *system*. But neither does Xiaomi, that I have seen- I have heard though that some people may see these, but I haven’t.
I don’t think this is really any different than what any other Android OEM, Google or other app maker does.
With Xiaomi, I don’t get ads in the settings, the OS, any of the integral system apps. I don’t get ads anywhere I would not expect ads, and in fact I get zero ads as I don’t use that one app that does have them!
I live in Asia and im also using a miui 11 EU rom. Go ahead. Install it. It’s a unofficial community not meant only for europe. I can assure you, its better than stock MIUI
They do have a release for the 9S, but it’s not MIUI 12. It’s still on MIUI 11.
Don’t rush into the latest version just because it’s the latest. Stick with 11 for now.
I went from the Redmi Note 7 Pro to the 9S when I put a crack in the 7P screen. I too was floored – even the difference between those two similar models is huge. Running xiaomi.eu on it now and it’s an absolute dream. Battery life is phenomenal, mobile data is fast (in Japan), the macro lens is great. All for $200.
you’ll be surprised with how many people needs more than 128gb. I do agree with your statement about apple phones though, right on.
People buy flagship phones for the little things you don’t get with budget phones – Build quality, Higher res or higher refresh rate screens, wireless charging, flagship camera, better software (yes, many android flagships has MUCH better software than xiaomi, and better support aswell).
I don’t think they’re idiots…
Ok thats a lot to unpack but lets address it piece by piece.
1.) Please give an example of someone who needs more than 128. Like i said, I’m a “power user” so even with tons of VR videos, my entire spotify library, DJI go 4 caches and every app i could ever need i still have space to spare. I understand needing TBs of space on a computer but not on a phone
2.) Build quality: the note 8 pro and above ship with gorilla glass 5, the same materials that come with flagship phones. Although personally honestly cheap plastic is better for durability sometimes… You certainly can’t argue that it doesn’t FEEL premium in the hand… Because its made of the same stuff. Gorilla glass victus was just announced shipping first on a Samsung phone… But thats a dumb reason to spend 1000 more dollars.
3.) Higher res: on this we can agree, for VR purposes in particular 4k is much better. Still, the 1080×2340 resolution is pretty standard even among flagship phones, including the phone OP used to have.
4.) Higher refresh rate: i know people are idiots and they buy into manufacturer propaganda but the truth is there is a very small fraction of the population who even has the reaction time to take advantage of 120hz, let alone on such a small phone. This is a perfect example of bikeshedding in the smartphone industry in action… If you don’t know what bikeshedding is, look it up. It is basically economic pressure to focus on redundant or unnecessary features and its the crux of why i think buying flagship is a literal waste of money.
5.) Flagship camera: I’ve seen comparisons between xiaomi and samsung cameras and samsung does have a slight edge in that. But my cheap xiaomi, the note 8 pro was literally the first on the market to offer a 64 mp camera and it has the same 4 camera array that is common among flagships… Also its common knowledge that gcam gets you much closer results to flagships and a lot of it is down to xiaomis proprietary color science. Not to mention for the price it costs to upgrade you can buy a brand new DSLM and several lenses that get significantly better results… Or a freaking DRONE. For the money you save on upgrading to a flagship, just go out and buy an actual flying quadcopter that takes better pictures than your flagship phone ever could. No one will ever be able to convince me that the cameras on a flagship phone are worth the added price. They objectively aren’t.
6.) Wireless charging: ok? 1 point for you. If you’re into that sort of thing.
7.) Better software: you’ll have to clarify what you mean by this. Certainly xiaomis bloatware is annoying but easy to disable and ignore. I actually like xiaomi’s themes, though, there are some absolutely beautiful ones and i can even mimic iPhone pretty closely. Its even possible to use other launchers like the one that ships on the pixel… I’ve done it myself and i prefer the stock experience. If you can provide some good examples i will concede this point to you as well.
1. about the 128gb storage; one example is one who chooses to keep years worth of videos and photos locally. One of my friend is one of them, he uses 120gb++ on his 256gb phone.
2. I’ll admit budget phones are getting better and better; hence why i use one. The redmi note series now uses gorilla glass 5, you’re right. But minor things like the frame, which is plastic rather than most flagship’s metal frame. These seems little, and it is, but it adds to the experience. It does feel premium, but people who buy flagships wants the best of the best.
3 and 4. 1080p is standard… yes. But people who buy flagships again, expect more. Take the Galaxy Note 20 for example. It comes with a 1080p 60hz screen, people goes nuts about it. About the refresh rate: people don’t buy 90 or 120hz displays for it’s response time mainly, many liked it because the smoothness. Basically, a 120hz screen will be twice as smooth as a 60hz screen on little things such as animations, scrolling, etc. This seems little but it polishes the whole experience, making the phone seems smoother and it’ll feel faster. Not bike shedding in my opinion.
5. about cameras: Yes your phone comes with 64mp. But it is proven that megapixels aren’t everything. If you compared a 108mp sensor of the mi note 10 for example with the 12mp on the iPhone 11 pro, In most cases the iPhone takes better shots. 4 cameras? For me the count of cameras don’t matter. Let’s say you have a main sensor, then 3 sub-par quality cameras for wide angle or telephoto. It’ll not make good pictures. About GCam: yes it does improve your photo quality. “gcam gets you much closer results” correct, but that’s the problem. “closer” is not the same as the real deal. People buying flagships care about these little quality step-up. For the price you can buy a camera you said, and you’re right. But people who uses flagships don’t want to think about that, they wanted the best of the best package. They want quick access to their cameras, and probably don’t want to carry another one.
6. (already addressed)
7. Software: “The bloatware while annoying is easy to disable” I don’t think that’s a premium experience. It’s easy yes, but flagship users shouldn’t have to think about any of that. Let’s compare MIUI with One UI for example. MIUI has a lot of little problems: laggy animations, messy updates, incompatibility with some apps, ads, spam notifications, list goes on. MIUI has themes, but so do One UI. The quality of themes is much better on one ui. MIUI has some great themes yes, even you said ones that mimic the iPhone; correct. But it mimics the iPhone. See, that’s again the problem. The quality is so much lower than the real one. Flagship users wanted the best, not close to best. No software is perfect yes, but you gotta admit MIUI is behind compared to others. Software is the most “personal preference” thing here because people has different taste here..
Welp, this is fun.. don’t take this seriously.. It’s just my opinion and it is of course not 100% correct for all. I respect yours, too.
edit: reddit messed up my numbering, sorry.
Which custom rom would you install on the redmi 9s? What about warranty if you unlock the bootloader or fuck something up?
Lineage OS
Its a hassle I still haven’t done it but I’m bound to do it someday when I’m not too lazy. There are detailed guides on xda and probably on YouTube as well. I’m positive the phone would improve significantly after installing it. No more Xiaomi spyware and bloatware to slow down your device.
I think it breaks warranty but you can lock th bootloader again I think.
Also you need to do it slowly not to mess anything because you can brick your phone if you fuck up.
Thanks, I will try the ROM.
Normally you’d be right, if we were talking about APSC or full frame. But when it comes to the tiny ass sensors on phone cameras, yes, megapixels matter. Also yes the number of cameras matter because of the variety of focal lengths and strengths they offer–TOF depth or night mode, beyond just wide angle / macro / telephoto to name a few. The obsession with many cameras isn’t simple bikeshedding like everything else is because theoretically it’s supposed to cover the wide range of lenses that might end up in your DSLR bag.
Again, you’re wrong about the screens. I was actually waiting for you to make a point about AMOLED vs IPS because there definitely is an argument to be made about the rendition of blacks. But anything about “smoothness” i assure you is just a placebo. Or perhaps what you are thinking of is the soap opera effect which as a cinematographer is something i strive to avoid.
And yeah maybe its not a premium experience to have to turn a few things off at the start of a new device. You will always have to configure something. Its no less annoying then having to register for google play and choose whether and where to back crap up… And most if not all of your complaints are unfounded. I have never had a problem with laggy animations, spam, ads or incompatibility. And you say its a bad thing that it mimics an iphone… I say its a good thing because it mimics the aesthetic with none of the drawbacks on functionality. I essentially had iOS 14 before it even existed because iphone users are only just now getting features that have been on android for a while. I don’t have to admit that its behind because its not… I’ve owned other androids and iphones and this is the experience i prefer.
If you’re having these issues, no offense but maybe you bought the absolute cheapest xiaomi phone and you got what you deserve. You can’t compare something like the Redmi 6A to a flagship certainly. But anything from 200-300$ or even less than that in some cases you certain can, and it holds its own quite well at a fraction of the price.
Megapixels matter yes, that’s not wrong. It will capture more detail. But I don’t think it’s worth trading off overall picture quality with simply more megapixels. For the multiple cameras, okay it might be used as a depth sensor or something, but you said it’s supposed to cover the wide range of lenses in a DSLR bag, but I don’t think it does that well. On a DSLR, you’ll get full quality no matter what lens you’re using, while on smartphones, especially budget ones: The secondary or third lens is usually worse than the first one.
I wouldn’t argue about amoled vs ips because I don’t really like amoled. I don’t like how it can burn in things. But overall AMOLED is the better screen though.
About higher refresh rate is placebo: it simply isn’t. Basically the screen can output higher framerates, which means smoother motion. Have you tried a high refresh rate screen? You’ll see the difference on how everything moves on the display. About the soft opera effect; I’ll give it to you here since I don’t really know if smartphones uses these things.
For always needing to configure something: Setting a google account could be an annoyance, but needing to further tinker with the phone to disable the ads is one more thing after the accounts and back ups. Again, downgrading the experience. Basically for xiaomi phones you’ll have to put the extra time to make it better while you shouldn’t have on a good flagship.
My complaints about my experience with MIUI is 100% my experience. I’m happy yours is not acting up like mine. I have a redmi note 7, the generation before yours and not the cheapest one. I see stuttering animations everywhere (app switcher), ads on my calendar (which is super annoying), and some apps require me to turn off miui optimization to be able to work properly (SAI).
About themes: Well, it’s your choice i suppose. I just don’t like fake iOS and stuffs.
Don’t get me wrong… Your phone and my phone is both great phones; i just don’t agree with you stating that flagships isn’t important anymore..
Ah thats interesting. Your phone actually may be bugged. My friend has the note 7 pro which is what i was originally going to get because it was such a solid experience and so far above what i had at the time. I can’t imagine there is such a huge jump between the note 7 and the note 7 pro… Your problems may actually be software related. Just to give you a little perspective, i have been amazed at how quickly and smoothly i can switch between high performance apps instantaneously with no lag. It caught me off guard at one point where i just ended up opening up everything on my homescreen just to see if it would falter. It could also be down to the theme you’re using… I use one of the iOS themes because of how clean it looks and how familiar it is to me.
I use a third party launcher. I understand for most people it’s smooth enough, but I’m not the most satisfied.. I have a few additional background apps open so that maybe the problem…
It’s just minor annoyances that i had experienced, but that easily caught me off guard.
Yeah that explains it. Whatever you’re using is definitely not optimized.
And yeah like i said… I’ve literally opened every app at once just to see what would happen and still no lag.
In my case when I do that everything slows down to a crawl.. The thing is i’ve seen smoother usage when I used the cheaper, lower end Redmi 4X. The Redmi 4X has a 3rd party launcher too, but everything feels so smooth. I think when Xiaomi starts producing more models the software quality is cut back. Which is very unfortunate.
Im late, but try Swiftkey Keyboard Way, way, way better than the built in one.
I see no issues with mine tho (i know im late lmao)
I have This phone, but i like the software. No ads, no bugs and many great features, I DONT GET HOW MANY PEOPLE HATE IT?! No lags, like 0 lags. Please tell me why everybody hates MIUI
I did but it sucked sadly. Has a lot of issues and doesn’t want to add words I commonly used. It got annoying quick. I switched back to Gboard and I hate it but I can tolerate it. I might try Swiftkey again sometime when I forget about how much I don’t like it.
i think you need to change the settings on SK. You just need to turn it on in settengs and check predictions on ” Typing”. works pretty well with mine but it doesnt let you remove it, which is pretty mad cuz i font want predictive text.
Or maybe you went on incognito mode, where it doesnt pick up whatever words you used.
I fixed it via shell command
