Hi, just wanted to check if anybody faced the same issues and had any possible solutions. I got a Xiaomi RediMi 14+ pro in Singapore and tested ok. But when I visit Australia, the phone cannot connect to the Australian Mobile SIM card (Aldi and Telstra network ) …Anyone has any explanations? I have tried configured the APN..and also reset the Mobile SIM card…but it cannot work

Australia shut down our 2g and 3g networks last year and it is wreaking havoc on overseas and imported phones. Carriers won’t let it work because you can’t call 000 (our 911). Generally there’s no solution other than maybe change carriers.
thanks for the reply. but my Xiaomi phone is 5G..can ot not work on 5G network?
That’s not how it works. Doesn’t matter if it’s 5G, you need 000 access or the carriers will block you. Australian market phones will work, imports are often blacklisted.
I bought the same phone from HK, and it doesn’t work on Lebara, but their sister company iiNet sent me an email saying it will work on their network, even though they all run on the Vodafone network. I also have an Aldi SIM and tested that and it worked fine.
