Phone is asking for pattern on other passwords when I never set one

I have not set a pattern since I factory reset my phone and yet whenever I try viewing private photos or go to settings and click on privacy protection password it’s asking me to enter a pattern which I never set, therefore I don’t know it. I can’t factory reset my phone cuz I have too much on it. What do I do?
