Wifi button turns red and data speed slows down – Redmi 10 Pro

I have a Redmi 10 Pro that is showing strange wifi behavior lately. The wifi badge in the notification slide changes from blue to red, and the wifi signal symbol shows a weak signal. This happens for several hours and then it goes back to normal. I have other phones that connect fine on the same network, and this phone has the same problem on other networks so the problem must be with the phone.

Anyone else seen this issue? I sent feedback to Xiaomi but no response yet.
