I found a way to enable AOSP style screenshot by disabling ‘Screenshot'(a system app) with adb commands. If you more like stock android than MIUI, you can try this.

Sadly no😭
Android 11 hadn’t official support it yet
But it will be official in android 12
can you send the adb command line here?
adb shell pm disable-user –user 0 com.miui.screenshot
But half of time it snaps something together and can’t scroll.
Yeah
I think MIUI scrolling screenshot is not so good
does this work on Android 10?
It probably works, but will look different
hey could you please tell me how you got that wallpaper?
It’s pixel 5’s live wallpaper. You can find a port version if it developed by XDA developer Pranav Pandey. He also ported other pixel phone wallpapers.
I get “Unknown package” in adb shell on Android 10, so I guess this is an Android 11 feature.
The package I disabled is from miui
just get pixel experience to get true stock android experience
Does this store screenshots in the Pictures folder instead of DCIM?
Yes, screenshots stored at Pictures/Screenshots
But original MIUI screenshot saved at DCIM
I do not have that package. Must be because I’m on a Poco X3 NFC. Apparently, Poco does not have that package.
3 fingers swipe to take screen shot is really nice and quick way to do it though, at least for me
Wow, haha, sometimes, probably when the screenshot service crashes and I take a screenshot, this “other” style comes up.😆👍
I’m pretty sure you don’t lose widevine L1 with PE, and also have access to banking apps
Don’t you lose L1 the moment you unlock the bootloader through Mi Unlock and flash the PE proprietary recovery?
May I know what live wallpaper is that?
I’m on miui, rooted, running everything including Google Pay.
Nope, L1 is still intact
But MIUI screenshot ui is better… 🤷🏻♂️
There are some MIUI features/apps I prefer over stock Android, like MIUI Dialer, Messaging, Calculator, etc. MIUI ones are more faster and feature rich.
Stepping Stones from Pixel 5
Just head to PE official telegram chat, there’s people using PE with L1
Some people prefer stock android and some prefer miui
Depends on what you want😃
Screenshot Quality is somehow bad in Xiaomi, they can’t save in PNG format. In Samsung you have options to save in PNG and JPG.
Thanks 😊
I’m a AOSP guy. But Google Dialer keeps me on MIUI.
No matter what people prefer some MIUI apps/features are just better. If I could port Mi Dialer to AOSP rom I would flash it right now
What’s the difference between the two?
I have a MIUI but it’s a Poco so it only has Google dialer
What’s so great about miui dialer if everyone talks about it?
My Mi9T Pro came with Google Dialer. But I’ve used Mi Dialer in my previous phones, so I moved to Xiaomi.eu custom rom.
For me,
Mi Dialer is faster, way better response time. T9 dialing in Mi Dialer is better. It shows even there are several phone numbers in one contact. In Google Dialer that’s 1 or two extra taps.
Mi Dialer has much better dark mode (like AMOLED black dark mode). Mi Dialer has better call recoding and more integrated with mi recorder and Mi cloud….. and there are other things

Read the comment below, I’ve mentioned you to a that one
no stock camera went to pixel experience loved it so so so much but i cant just live on gcam with limited features. flash xiaomi eu for now. dont want to root either for anx camera so yeah:(
Can you tell the adb command for it?
Well you are going to be disappointed when you get a new phone and realize you can’t use Mi Dialer anymore (in Europe)
Well Duh… I already know and I already have a solution… 😂
Nice. Can we take long screenshot with it?
Also in India. God I miss MI Dialer and Messages Apps. How can I port these two apps on my mobile that is running stock MIUI 12.5.5?
What’s holding you off from using Magisk Root?
I don’t know about normal MIUI, but on [Xiaomi.eu](https://Xiaomi.eu) Custom ROM I can record calls automatically with the Xiaomi Dialer, pretty useful.
well i’d lose google pay and banking options with root. i know i can use magisk hide or something like that but i’d rather not root my phone. plus the anx camera for my phone (RN10) isnt perfect either 🙁
I was gonna mention MagiskHide. It really does work well, and I use Google Pay to pay in stores and use a Banking app ^^.
I use pixel experience, but if your device doesn’t support PE, use Pixel Plus ui. It’s mostly similar
Hello, I’m looking for a regular Xiaomi.eu user to give me feedback. I have a poco F2 pro that I would like to flash a rom xiaomi.eu because I discovered that many features will never leave China, and xiaomi.eu is perfect because it’s based to china version. So my question is the OTA updates are done easily with Xiaomi.eu ? I often come across problems with twrp on internet. Some said I will have to flash the system again with each update, Some have encountered bootloops after update. Thanks and so for my bad english 😅 Do not hesitate to answer me privately for advice and explanation, I take advantage of the 168j to unlock the bootloader to prepare myself.
Updates are easy! You get a notification every time an update comes out.
You can download the update either through the Updater in the Settings-app, or from [Xiaomi.eu](https://Xiaomi.eu). Then, you just boot into TWRP and flash the update. That’s it.
You don’t need to format, wipe or erase, just flash update and reboot 🙂
Keep in mind that Updates flash a new “boot.img”, so if you use Magisk Root, and you want to continue to have Root-access, you want to flash Magisk.zip afterwards, or patch the new boot.img with the Magisk-app & flash the patched boot.img using Fastboot Mode. You can do this any time though. It doesn’t have to be directly after the Flash.
Do you have a problem with doing updates ?
Thanks man, I don’t plan to root my phone, I’m not interested. I just want to enjoy the multitude of advantages that a Chinese Miui offerts. (More customization, faster update etc…)
OK I downloaded everything from the site xiaomi.eu (twrp and the firmware) and an official rom in case I brick my smartphone or bootloop. And a lot of tutorials to repare my advice. If you have good video tuturial to do this from the beggining please share. I will do it with the xiaomi.eu explanation. It’s not that difficult but… Lol. thanks again man.
Oh ok, so you’re not on the [Xiaomi.eu](https://Xiaomi.eu) Custom ROM yet, but want to install it.
Yeah the installation process is easy, you just install the ZIP file in TWRP, and you might have to format data. \^\^ I don’t know if you have to format data before or after flashing the ROM. Maybe it doesn’t matter.
Installation was some months ago for me, so I don’t quite remember sorry lol, but I think this should work!
If you don’t have TWRP, you have to flash that first. \^\^
For me, I just had to boot into Fastboot Mode, and do “fastboot boot TWRP.img” and flash [Xiaomi.eu](https://Xiaomi.eu) Custom ROM. When you flash something inside TWRP, TWRP installs itself automatically. \^\^
MIUI Messaging? You are crazy lol.
But does it has the same performance and features?
Features: Yes, pixel plus ui actually has way more customization options than PE+
Performance: Should be similar, they are all AOSP based. Keep in mind Pixel experience is again not the fastest performing rom. You better off choose roms like Evolution X, Corvus, Havoc or Nasuntara if you want absolute maximum performance from your device.
Is there a way to disable xiaomi’s Cast implementation? It’s barely useful compared to official
I did flash arrow os on my redmi note 9s. The performance and smoothness was beautiful. But my phone started freezing randomly. It froze to the point i had to reboot. So u see I’m a bit scared of flashing a new rom for now. Pixel experience isn’t supported for my device. I wanted to know that is it worth it bcz my usage is heavy. I play games most of the time and Netflix.
> I play games most of the time
Try performance oriented roms like the ones I mentioned (Evolution X, Corvus, Havoc or Nasuntara) if performance is what you care about.
Performance and battery backup…. Main priorities….. I’m thinking of corvus as evolution x is not officially for my set.
What is engrissu
there is rootless anx! just flash the zip in your recovery
Yes, faster, AMOLED dark mode, timed messages.
Only thing Google has as an advantage is RCS. But still, that app is slow compared to Mi Messaging
Corvus should be a good choice!
Thanks
really? can you tell me more about it please?
ok, going to be honest, I got this zip from my device + custom rom specific telegram group (mi 9t pro/resurrection remix). It’s certainly unofficial, there’s no “official” way of getting anx without magisk. But the version of anx I installed certainly works, and I haven’t run into any problems yet. Maybe if you dig around you could find one for your phone & rom combination, but it’s going to be unofficial, no way around that. Sorry to disappoint 🙁
It’s great too but device support seems to be less compared to Pixel Plus UI or Pixel experience.
At the end of the day all 3 of them achieve a same goal i.e replicating pixel like experience for us who want to save money by getting a cheaper (and sometimes better) device 😂
You’ve to flash xiaomi.eu rom. No other way to get them sadly.
ah i see! well if switch back to pixel experience or other roms I’m definitely going to try and find an anx version like that for my phone. thanks for telling, not disappointed 🙂
Now find a way to disable miui and run stock android.
No, im using the official miui for poco. Yes I learned how to flash twrp with command prompt. Xiaomi.eu website say need to format before and install the custom rom after. I hope that everything will be fine. What’s about updating twrp ? what should I do? Or is it not absolutly necessary? Thanks again for your time 🙂
I was gonna say that
Mi Dialer and Messaging removed in India (IN) ROM? Thank god that the Indonesian (ID) ROM still have the Dialer, Messaging and Call Recording…
What would happen if I flashed the official and latest MIUI ROM which is meant for Indonesia on to my Redmi Note 10S Indian unit?
you crazy xd
Did you try to reach device group if anyone else had the same issue ?
It was a kernel issue. I switched the kernel to aagni but had to sacrifice batter backup. It was horrible battery backup 6hrs sot max without gaming. So I’m back on stock 12.5. Thinking of shifting to aospextended next. Fingers crossed.
The three finger screenshot function no longer works if you disable the MIUI screenshot package, nor does it do scrolling screenshots.
You can probably disable some other apps and get a better stock android feeling. I just disabled gallery because it was draining battery (had removed file permission for months to stop it) and even camera shortcut (bottom left) opens taken photos on my gallery app of choice. Had I realized that earlier, I would’ve done this immediately instead of opening my the app manually every time I took a photo.
I did that on Xiaomi 11T Pro (Miui 12.5) and now i have stock android 11 screenshot, which works better for my needs. There is one problem i cannot solve now: i cannot turn off screenshot sound, ad it doesn’t follow my sound level settings 🙁
Anyone has a way around this?
Yeah that’s actually annoying.
Basically it can’t be turned off, even if you turned off “Allow playing sounds” inside “System UI” notification settings.
is there maybe some other app that can intercept “volume down + power” and work as a screenshot app?
With Android 12-based MIUI 13, you could, in theory.
I didn’t test it since I haven’t got MIUI 13 yet⚡
This has just happened to me randomly, and then the MIUI started working again after a restart.
Yes. It happens when the service behind it crashes.
Would it be safe to uninstall it? Since there are not so many official ROMs on my Redmi Note 9, I would like to uninstall every single MIUI app to make my phone the “stockiest” as possible. Is there any list of apps that is safe to uninstall without bricking the phone?
https://technastic.com/xiaomi-bloatware-list-miui/
Thank you so much! I already managed to uninstall the official YouTube app from my phone using the ADB (without root) because I have the Vanced. (It was like 2 weeks before they announced the sad ending)
Oki so it doesn’t work on newer MIUI versions apparently.
Nope, MIUI screenshot is far worse: it doesn’t even provide an option to save as PNG instead of the default JPG.
PNG is usually better for screenshots since UI are mostly pure gradients. JPG doesn’t save much space in such cases.
Tested on Redmi K70 (HyperOS 1.0.13.0.UNKCNXM) and it says:
`Exception occurred while executing ‘disable-user’:java.lang.SecurityException: Cannot disable system packages.`
Well this post was made 2 yrs ago…
That’s a very minor inconvenience compared to more useful features provided my MIUI’s screenshot tool. I’ve been using OSS Android 12/13 roms for more than 2 or 3 years. I still miss the MIUI screenshot tool.
It no longer works 🙁
Well, for me, saving screenshot in a lossless format is an essential feature while other features are just trivial and imperfect. For example, HyperOS’ long screenshot either works or not depending on in which app you’re screenshoting (annoyingly unpredictable), so I’d rather use a photo stitching app.
Anyway, I just don’t understand why Xiaomi chose not to support saving PNG…
